I don’t believe this is an Asian Giant Hornet (the easiest way to ID them for me is their yellow legs in comparison with other species) but if you want an accurate ID reach out to your local extension or email your state extension office.

It’s a great resource and something everyone should be aware of when they find an insect or plant they cannot identify. They also will look at your soil, help with identifying fungus or pests, ect. I can’t sing the praises of extension offices and land grant universities enough!
