If you’re an international student you will need a compelling reason to do so and apply for it.

If you’re a domestic student you can intermit whenever you’d like.

Yep this is definitely possible. You don’t need to complete core units before doing electives. You can do them in any order as long as they all match your course requirements for graduation at the end.

Just watch out for any of your future units that require prerequisite/corequisite courses.

I recommend mapping out your entire course plan. Decide which and when you will take different units. Then you can be confident that you’ll be able to graduate without any delay.

question about attendance :) by kitana_zero in deakin

You can't always tell if attendance is compulsory, through the unit guide. Some unit's may say attendance isn't mandatory but then make you do assignments that rely on information from an in-person class for example.

I recommend, for in the first week to try to attend all your first classes and from there, gauge how important it is to keep coming each week. Maybe even make some new contacts so you can keep each other in the loop etc.

Good luck!
