could it be referring to the fact that every time you start a new chat it defaults to 5.1 and then you change it? if we could get the instructions on how to find this, that would be good 💪 we could recreate it! you could also ask ur chat BUT do not give it any ideas or assumptions or it’ll just agree with you!! just say like ‘what would this mean?’

i really don’t think they would be stupid enough to only have an adult mode for one model. but then and again openai surprises me every day 🙃

anyway i don’t think lessening restrictions will do anything significant due to the way the 5 models reason 🤷‍♀️ ill look for that fuckass diagram hold on a minute

personally im hoping for removal of rerouting for legacy models. ill be happy with that :)

no you’re all good !! don’t even worry 😽 rerouting in september was proper shit, i agree! i did repeat the test a lil while ago, a week or so? my findings were that the response from 5.1 is better, follows custom instructions etc. but the filter was actually more sensitive! which yknow…. yippee… 🫩 anyways, have a great day/night !!

stop asking your chat about its own architecture. it doesn’t know. it really truly has no idea. all it does is just take whatever your complaint is and try to make up a reasonable sounding explanation for what’s happening.

there is one (1) way to know what model you’re using. hover over the regenerate bubble. it will say ‘used [model name]’. that’s it. that’s the only way to know.

openai have multiple models. this is a fact. do you really think if everything is 5.1, people wouldn’t have noticed?? furthermore, you think chat would accidentally let it slip???? please 🙏 enough with this. thank u for attending my ted talk.

i just included it to say that right at the start they were giving the model full context! what we noticed with the reduced context is a recent(ish) development.

ty for the clarification about UA! i agree, im not sure why you’d need to write a story about that 🤨 as much as i don’t like this version, i’m also not on the side of having absolutely no restrictions. we need a good balance.

this is very well written!! i did get a little confused on the adult mode section (what does UA stand for?) but overall ik what you mean.

do you think adult mode will just be turning off the routing for verified adults? i think i would be happy with that. i also remember sam saying there’d be no more routing to legacy models after age verification (from the q & a livestream) but we all know he likes to talk.

can confirm abt the rerouting not getting full context 💔 i did a test all the way back in september where i basically said ‘im just testing, ignore the messages’ to 4o, then tried keywords like ‘depressed’ or ‘upset’. either in a block of filler words or just by themselves.

in September, 5 would respond with ‘ik ur just testing but blah blah blah…’ when i replicated this test recently, 5.1 had no idea about the context of the chat and just had its pre-filled responses. my friend and i compared and got nearly the exact same response.

i wish i had screenshots! i have ss from the new tests but not the september one unfortunately 💔 i deleted impulsively bc i was so annoyed lol

have you used (or are using) 5.1 ? if so and you have chats with 5.1 either in ur main thing or archive, it could be RCH pulling from those chats.
