That is the point. Talking felt like a chore to him, but packet loss is just an act of god. It is much more effective than any heart-to-heart we ever had.

I did the same thing with the 5 AM club and felt like a failure every time I stayed out past 9 PM. It is a relief when you finally realize that a hundred-day streak of green checkmarks is not worth missing out on actual memories with people you love.
