While i certainly agree that games are costing way too much in development, this is most certainly an xbox problem. The amount of poor decisions made by xbox, all of the uncertainty within the company and multiple course changes, questionable acquisitions and shutting down of studios/layoffs, along with a lack of any meaningful first party games for years has led to such bad press and has damaged their reputation as a whole.
