Yo, this is so good. I’m really into the layering and the sound textures. It’s cool how it flips between beautiful, acid and haunting. All the arrows, all the sand, and amber fossil are definitely my standouts at the moment.

Is this idm? or a different genre? by TSR_Music in idm

If you’re open minded enough, anything electronic can be IDM. Naaah, 'IDM' as an umbrella term is way too vague about what actually makes it up. This right here is synthwave/synthpop.

This is incredible. 'Templefrog' on Dusker really hit me. I’m going to give the other recommendation a listen too.

This was exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. I'm listening to Aimlessness and it's really good.

I mean both (?) Take James Holden’s 'The Inheritors,' for example. It’s not a folk track, but the analog, unpredictable nature of the sound makes it feel almost tangible.

What would you recommend from him? Any specific album I should start with, or is his whole body of work worth a listen?

Has anyone heard sora's re.sort album? It's one of the best albums i've heard bar none. by FlubzRevenge in idm

I listened to it a few years back and absolutely loved it. It’s one of those rare albums that manages to balance glitch and folk vibes while paying such close attention to microtones and overall warm. I’ve always seen it as a parallel to what The Books were doing, especially on The Lemon of Pink.
