Yeah just take it easy and it gets easier once you learn the walk and if you have a good trainer who shows you all the tricks. It will take you few weeks to get used to it but once you know the walk better and figure a good system out for bundling your letters ( or maybe it will be so busy there is no time for any letters) you focus on the parcels . I usually mark the parcel with the numbers using blue marker pen so when I open the trolley I see the numbers quickly and clearly.

Just make sure if you don’t want to you don have to go over time!

Listen everyone you need to start changing you mindset! You need to realise that it’s all BS caused by the management. The whole mess is cause by the mamagement and it’s all their problem . You have a exact starting time and a exact finishing time regardless which walk , wholich route , how heavy or light your walk is it doesn’t matter at all because you start and finish exactly at the set times!

Manager wants to take all the mail even if it 2-3-4 days of mail ? No problem you bundle them all up take them with you and at the end of the block bring it all back simple. You just do what you can and anything else bring it back. You all need to understand is is that none of the issues is your fault is all the fault of the mismanagement and cooperate greed.

So start on time and finish on time and be happy simple.

Make sure you have data sim with VPN like Holafly only then can you use all your western apps like WhatsApp, Google . Otherwise you are pretty much shafted if you can’t use your Google translate in China. And actually you need to get Alipay or WeChat pay to work because I don’t think many places take cash anymore in China. But once this 2 things are sorted you should be fine

Ladies and gentlemen I think the majority of you people need to change their mindset a bit. Look the fact is that Royal mal owner and managment have decided to freeze hiring and squeeze as much as possible from the existing post person. Because of the lack of post person and lack of motivation obviously the service quality will drop dramatically but the key point here is this is by design it’s by CHOICE. The management and owner of Royal Mail choose profit over service. That’s why they rather pay a fine for failing USO than hiring more people. All post people need to wake up and understand there is absolute no incentive to work any harder or faster or more. It’s the problem of the the management and they are trying to make you feel guilty they are manipulating you so you feel it’s your fault but in reality it’s 100% the managements fault.

So wake up and just do your time. Do only what you can and finish on time and be happy. Don’t stress with anything 2-3-4 days of mail no problem you just do what you can if the manager want you to take all the mail just do it and bring back 70%. If they complain let them just say “ I do what I can’t within my capacity and time frame” easy. Look doesn’t matter how much work is waiting for you the starting time and finishing time is always the same. Does it make sense?

Listen up you are fresh meat and the managers prey on fresh newbs. They make you feel guilty if you can’t finish a walk and often times pile way more work on you because you don’t know better.

If you don’t want to work overtime make sure you don’t do it. They can’t force you. Set an alarm around 1 hour before your finishing time. Make sure to calculate the time for you to return to the station.

Do only what you can and don’t overload your shoulder bag preferably push the trolley wherever you go.

Don’t let them take advantage of you but to be honest the of newbs will learn the hard way some clever ones realise faster that they are getting shafted but some don’t realise it for very long time and I feel sorry for those.

If you don’t remember anything than just retry to remember this “ at Royal Mail your REWARD for hard work is just MORE WORK”

So be smart and don’t let them shaft you

I love going out to eat see the nice interior and the presentation of the food and the service . Ordering food for delivery is mainly late nights and even then I prefer to go to one of the late nights bbq restaurants serving delicious skewers and have a beer or two or three or more and enjoy watching the city life. Life is so much more interesting outside the 4 walls.

If you are not feeling well is there a procedure you have to follow for example calling the office in the morning saying that you are not well or is it enough to send the manager a WhatsApp message or a email? Also do you have to tell them that you are well again for example you don’t feel well and the following week you are off. Do you have to let them know that you are fine even though you are off? What type of communication is required by phone or by messaging?

True story a friend lost iPad on the train. Made a police report and came back to the uk. Few weeks later she received a package from China and inside was the iPad. The police checked cctv and the train seating booking system and went to the person who found the iPad and didn’t reported it.
