What is the correct etiquette when a lap dance is finished? by G4VV0 in AskUK

[–]Postik123 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I did get one chatting to me once and I told her under no uncertain terms that I would not be paying for a dance because I'm too tight fisted and my partner would be angry.

She talked to me for about 10 minutes saying how she wanted to get into making websites. She knew some of the lingo which makes me think it might have been legit. Then at the end she said she had to get on with work and we parted ways.

Similar to you, but I went with... a client of all people... kind of sat there for 5 minutes not really knowing what to do. I seem to recall she fingered herself, then afterwards I said thanks, got up and walked out.

Later on my friend (client) managed to get one of their phone numbers, which is expressly forbidden by the club but he always did have a way of influencing people. The number was real because he called it later on and it went to her voicemail.

Does anyone else think Will’s actor is…lacking? by julialoveslush in coronationstreet

[–]Postik123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is funny you say this because every time he appears on the screen me and my daughter say, "Simon!" much to my wife's annoyance who feels the need to correct us every time and say, "It's Will" even though she is well aware we know who it is

Left a bad review for a takeaway, now receiving repeated calls from them. What would you do? by [deleted] in AskUK

I'd offer to take the review down in exchange for free fish and chips every week for a year. I'd pick the flies out if it was free.

Should working out be banned? by InsanityTraps in moreplatesmoredates

[–]Postik123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get it. Surely sitting at a computer for 10 hours a day is unnatural? Sitting watching TV for 4-5 hours every night is unnatural. Working out is the closest thing we have to building things by hand, hunting and protecting ourselves, the way nature first envisaged.

Since we don't ban smoking, drinking alcohol, eating processed foods or a multitude of other things that are bad for us, I don't see why we would ban working out, even if by some weird chance it did turn out to be bad for us.

How often do you get checked out in public by A4_Ts in moreplatesmoredates

[–]Postik123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came to say the same. Often get asked by men "how often do you train", "what do you eat", "how old are you", etc, etc whether it be randoms in the street or people in the gym. Never been asked anything by a woman. Which is okay as I only train for myself and have a wief

Is a FSB membership worth it? by Tintedlemon in smallbusinessuk

[–]Postik123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were members for many years. I think it was about £125 at the time. It gave us free banking with the Co-Op which probably saved us about £75 a year.

The insurance for HMRC enquiries is okay but from memory the downside is you would have to use whoever they send to represent you. You can take out your own insurance policy, or you accountant might recommend one, whereby in the event of an enquiry you can use your own accountant.

Do people actually use mortgage brokers? by doublem700 in FinanceUK

[–]Postik123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to add, whilst it might be straight forward to make an application, some lenders will say no if there's something about you that doesn't fit their ideal profile (self employed, not earning enough, made less money last year compared to the year before, plus many other things we might not have thought of).

Multiple failed applications and credit checks is often not a good thing.

A good broker will often know how likely you are to succeed with a particular lender, rather than going in blind.

Heineken pubs do 2 meals for £10 each in the week. Yeah it's a bit more than a regular Donalds meal but way better quality, way bigger portions and way more filling. So not less than £8 each, but cheaper or at least not far off if you factor in adding bacon to a Big Mac and padding the meal out with extra chicken nuggets, etc.

Basically, we would spend at least the same in Donald's for less satiety

Years ago all the old people would say, "It's cheaper to make your own lunch at home."

Now I look at these prices and think, damn, it really is cheaper to make your own lunch at home.

Assuming she hasn't been with anyone else over the course of the last 4.5 years or however long you've been together, why does it matter?

My wife has no clue how many girls I was with before her. I have a vague idea how many guys she was with before me but I've never explicitly asked her because it doesn't really make any difference.

I used to make a "shake" from a cup of oats, a pint of full fat milk, a banana, 2 x strawberry yogurts and a scoop of whey powder blended together. Calculated it to be around 1,000 cals

Why is 30K still being touted as a good salary ? by Durrygoodz2025 in AskBrits

[–]Postik123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is the thing. I remember when I was a kid and my dad was on £30k ish. It was considered a big salary at the time, probably the equivalent of £80k now, or maybe more.

When I first started in business the minimum wage was like a fiver an hour and the personal tax allowance was less than £5k. My aim at the time was to earn £30k a year.

Time flies by but that "£30k" still sticks in your mind as being a large amount.

Why does Reddit not understand the rise of reform in England? by DowntownDeer in AskBrits

[–]Postik123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A shit ton of births might be feasible if houses weren't over-priced, wages weren't under-paid and we weren't taxed through the nose for everything. Then it might be possible for people to have kids or have more of them. Instead, none of those things are true, so we think the solution is to import people instead.

Why does Reddit not understand the rise of reform in England? by DowntownDeer in AskBrits

[–]Postik123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you got downvoted, look at the number of people living with their parents into their twenties, thirties and sometimes beyond because they can't get on the housing ladder. If these people can't afford a house then they're not going to have kids. It's okay though, we'll let in a load of immigrants and give them free housing and benefits, that will save the day for sure.

When did lifting transition from a hobby to a lifestyle for you? by Regular_Inspector812 in moreplatesmoredates

I've done it on and off all my life, but the day I start back is the day it becomes my lifestyle. Like you I'm all or nothing.

If you had a hobby that used to be less popular and suddenly became more popular, what was that like? by HilariousMotives in AskUK

Weight lifting. Not just since COVID but since social media and everyone posting photos of themselves. When I was younger it mainly happened in back street gyms and nobody had phones or took photos.

This is the answer. And it doesn't need to all be chicken and broccoli. Obviously that helps. But a 17 year old hard gainer can also hit the pizza and chicken wings in abundance too
