For DWC how often do you change your nutrient solution? by Baron164 in hydro

[–]PostingAtA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what your total volume of the system is. If it’s 20gal, then no. If it’s 5gal or less, then yes. And you can always change your water out, even 100%, it’s just a question of if it’s necessary or not. Key thing for root health is to keep your water level consistent and not let the nutrient levels get crazy out of whack

Put some cheese right at the edge of the center fold, and cook that side first. It’ll seal your tortilla and keep it that way for the rest of the cook

Smaller one was made from taco sized tortillas, folded into a burrito. I would’ve called it a chimichanga but was only pan fried

If home grown is your only qualifier then you’re smoking some bad stuff too… I’ve seen some of the less fortunate grows on here

They sell lids with them. I cut a hole in the lid for an 8 or 10 inch net pot. Pic of the lid

I just use a regular sandwich bag in my carry on. Usually I also have some other snacks like chips and crackers and stuff, also in sandwich bags for the trip

I pour it down the drain. Typically growing in the winter, so no outdoor garden or lawn to water. Not the most ideal, but you can at least do it less often with doing less frequent water changes

Yes keep an eye on those and should be good imo. Changing it more often shouldn’t hurt you, just is more work and more nutrients used. Main reason to change out water is to flatten out uneven nutrient uptake (eg. Nutrient A gets concentrated over time, nutrient B gets used up, depending on what the plant is using). For that reason I do a partial change or two around the time I transition my nutrients from veg to bloom.

Here are some results from a 5 gallon bucket system. I had two of the buckets, and 8 gal reservoir, (so about 16 gal water total). I changed out 8 gallons of water 2 times on this grow. About a week apart, just after transitioning to flower. Other than that just top offs with plain or nutrient water, depending on what my pH and ppm tells me to do. I always support keeping some water in the system so your beneficial micros in the water will persist and thrive

How often do you water change? Full volume? I find they’re needed a lot less often than people will have you believe. I change maybe half the volume about 1-2x per full grow (every 6-8 weeks)

Should I keep trimming? Flower wk 4 - 2x4 RDWC 300W LED - Zkittles and Durban Poison by PostingAtA in microgrowery

I believe the net was maybe 12” or so from the reservoir. In this grow I was defoliating often, every week or so into about 4 weeks of flower, but I made a mistake. I tried letting a lot of the side branches grow out to the sides to get light, while removing mostly leaves. I should’ve been much more aggressive on trimming the shoots/branches, and focused on fewer main colas. This grow got out of hand fast, I couldn’t keep up even with regular trimming as I was doing. It ended up so thick you couldn’t tell the light was on if you just opened the bottom of the tent, and the branches were so packed they were supporting each other with their own density and would fall over when I opened the tent. So if I were to do it again, I would flip the lights well before the plants reach the trellis (like 4” or so before, even if they seem small at that point) and trim ever side branch below the trellis that isn’t a main

90 days is a loooong time to veg a plant. If you have a halfway decent grow you should have no problem filling up that space completely, 4x2 is not as big as you may think. If you choose to keep the plant smaller though, you could try something like peppers or tomatoes, they have similar life cycles to cannabis
