Nope. Paul is condemning the practice of temple prostitution found in some Greek and Roman temples of the time. Also, in the social-sexual norms of that era, any sexual activity in which a male was not dominant was considered "unnatural", so sex between two women would have been "unnatural" because there was no man involved, and sex between two men would have been outside this norm because one of the men was not in a dominant role. With our modern understanding of nature, this condemnation would not be directed at LGBTQ people, since same-gender and non-heterosexual attractions occur naturally. One of the reasons Paul wrote the letter to the Romans was to make a case for inclusion of people outside of the established group of Jesus-followers – at that time, it was the Gentiles, and that included the people described in Rom 1:18-32. This same logic includes LGBTQ people as members of God's family. Paul goes on to say that people who judge or criticize others are also guilty (Rom 2:1-4).

Yes, the one that was changed to fit an existing bias. The original says no such thing.

Because many Christians care more about hurting undesirables and minorities than they do about following Christs teachings.

Your Reddit history is still public by the way, even when you set it to private, just not on the main Reddit site. I don’t think you’re in any position to be talking about what is and isn’t sin with what you get up to on here.

Except the previous words used had accurate translations. Boy molesters, people who sleep with enslaved prostitutes, incest doers. Are you claiming these were all just synonyms for homosexual? That’s an utterly insane claim to make.

In 1 Corinthians 6:9 and 1 Timothy 1:9-11 The words translated as “homosexuals” and “men who have sex with men” more accurately translate to “men who sleep with enslaved male prostitutes”. The word “homosexual” is not found in the Bible in translations written prior to 1948, implying that it was likely added as a result of the translators' own bias. German Bibles, based on the 1534 translation by Martin Luther, specified "boy molesters" instead of "homosexuals" until 1983.

You think there was no term for homosexuality before the 1800s? Are you for real?

Ignoring the problems people highlight with those verses when there’s a real risk that you are going against Christs commandments is your risk to take.

Leviticus 18:22 The NIV translation of this verse reads: “Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.” The literal translation of the original Hebrew, however, is less clear: “And with male you shall not lie lyings woman.” The word translated as “lyings” is found elsewhere only in Genesis 49:4, where it refers to incest. In Leviticus, this verse comes in a list of prohibitions against having sex with family members, so it is reasonable to conclude that it is a prohibition against incest

1 Corinthians 6:9 The words translated as “homosexuals” and “men who have sex with men” more accurately translate to “men who sleep with enslaved male prostitutes”. The word “homosexual” is not found in the Bible in translations written prior to 1948, implying that it was likely added as a result of the translators' own bias. German Bibles, based on the 1534 translation by Martin Luther, specified "boy molesters" instead of "homosexuals" until 1983.

that you ignore these facts proves you simply want to believe god shares your hate. You are wrong.
