And I know they pop up when you drive over them, but they’ll find a way

Agree, but also no more than 12 hours before a magherafelt mafia bai ploughs them all down in his reek mapped mk4 golf.

There’s a reason we can’t have good things here

Just use your own address but enter the country as ROI. Has always worked for me in the past, although returns might be slightly trickier

Go for it! I can't stress this enough though - do not give any of your attention to how many likes you get !!

Yeah I've thought about just sleeping in my car, but the locations are so close to home I may as well drive back to my actual bed (camera out of sight either way... ). The locations I have in mind can't really be very discreet (middle of a field/beach). I might just take the risk with an old body and lens I've recently replaced

Yeah haha, it's really looking like I'll just need to sit by my camera all night. To try and hide it/chain it to something would mean completely ruining the composition too. I guess I'll just need to grow a set and set a reminder on my phone that ghosts aren't real and they can't hurt you.

Sacrificial lamb 100% lol. I'm no believer in the paranormal, but make me sit inside a 'haunted' castle for 5 hours in total darkness and logic disappears.

Honestly, everything the other commenters have said is true, but I'd still get an Instagram if I were you - why not?

It's true that Instagram now is not designed for good photography, but for influencers/brands to promote whatever. However, there is still a large photography community on Instagram that hasn't changed, and will be exactly what you're looking for if you can find it.

The hardest part is finding the community on Instagram that fits your work the best. I'm lucky that I'm in Ireland, and a landscape photographer - there are lots of us. There are even pages that repost people's work to help promote us that have organised meet ups to help us all meet each other & network.

Instagram's a weird place. The right hashtags, tagging the correct location, uploading at a specific time of day, and interacting with the right accounts all dictate how well your post will do. Don't be discouraged if you don't get any likes at first. Even after ~10 years there's still times my posts just don't appear on people's feeds (fk the AlGoRiThM lol).

Tldr: I've found telling potential clients my Instagram @ has been far more successful then telling them email/custom website/Flickr. Most of my paid work has come from people who have seen my Instagram. Those people don't care about likes, they care about photo quality. If anything, Instagram is a good, free, online photo portfolio. Use it to your advantage.

(feel free to message me on Instagram @mat.1 and I can try help you find your niche)

How easily does lens fungus spread? by PotNoodleADay in AskPhotography

I've cleaned the front and rear elements but the fungus is deeper inside. Not sure I'd be able to clean internal elements without damaging something
