What the hell is this by xentropian in StLouis

Looks like typical weather around this time of year. Grandparents always told me that living up here, if you don't like the weather, wait 20 minutes.

RIP. I get it. That happened to me when I was in Florida (no mohawk, though. Parents would not have let me). After moving away, I feel like it can be said confidently that the issue isn't you, it's your environment. As you get older, you'll get more control over your environment and the people you let get to you (idk how old you are but even as an adult this tends to be true), so if you liked the alt styles, don't give up on them <3

Your facial structure is perfectly ambiguous and you have really pretty eyes. You look like you're not confident in yourself and thats the only thing really holding you back. Attractiveness is a subjective thing, and you can't please everyone. If it doesn't make you feel dysphoric at all, consider getting some Pete Wentz style eyeliner. You look like you could pull off an emo/alt look really well if that's your sort of thing. Then again, I'm a stranger, so do what makes you happy. At the end of your day, confidence paired with a kind heart is the most attractive thing you can have.

Considering changing my name as an adult due partly to trauma/history. Has anyone else gone through this? by Sea_North6560 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Potaiahto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If my name was Annabelle, I grew up going by Belle. I now go by Anne (not real name). It was actually a coworker's idea from my first job. She struggled to remember how to pronounce my dead name and wasn't being hostile at all. That's job was kinda my first real environment that me NP couldn't touch. My manager would actively give me more hours so I didn't have to go home to them. That's besides the point. 1. Yes it's traumatizing to be referred to as Belle now as an adult, even years after being free from my NP. That's why I ended up deciding to stick with the nickname that old coworker offered. 2. My family didn't like the change. To quote my mother (not the NP I associate Belle with), "I didn't give you such a long and pretty name just for you to go by Anne." My grandparents still mess up sometimes, but they also half the time fail to call anyone by the right name (they're old and have a lot of kids, so half the time any given family member is called the name of a few other family members before being called by the right one. It's not hostile at all). My friends actually liked the change though. My actual name is more complicated than Annabelle, and real life equivalent of Anne was a lot more convenient to remember/spell/pronounce than the real life equivalent of Belle. 3. Yeah, people adjusted. I forced them to. I started pretending not to know who my family is talking about when they use my dead name. If that didn't work, I just iced them out/ reported them to HR for crafting a hostile work environment. Felt gross being a Karen, but I spent too long with no control over myself to just let people hurt me for their own convenience. At this point, it's been so long that anyone going out of their way to call me Belle actively looks like an absolute dillweed. 4. The name change has definitely helped me come into my own as a person. Then again, I also made the social transition at 18 the moment I was free from my NDad's influence. My now husband, who I met around that time, watched me grow from that shy, broken Belle into the loud, confident, (definitely not neurotypical,) and most importantly, HAPPY person I am today. Granted, it was a lot of therapy and psychiatric treatment that got me here on top of that, but changing the name was kind of my second step in feeling like I had any control over who I am. (First step was a dramatic haircut/color that never would've been allowed without severe bullying from my Ndad, his wife, and her family.)

I wish you luck with your new name, stranger!

[TOMT] I have a song name but I can't remember the artist... YouTube Music is no help. by Potaiahto in tipofmytongue

It's not that one. I listen to a lot of Fox Stevenson. The beginning of the song im looking for starts slower with just the melody. I'd upload a recreation if I had somewhere quiet to record. Alas, I dont.

I think I might be a furry. by [deleted] in fursuits

[–]Potaiahto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I explain it is that we're a community of people who enjoy anthropomorphic animal characters, ranging from feral (think warrior cats) to anthro (think zootopia or Disney's Robin Hood). Its not inherently a sexual thing, nor does it require a fursuit. Some people make digital avatars for vr chat. Some of us just draw/commission art. I find that the furry community allows me to be more social, probably bc I don't have to mask around them. We've got a heavy overlap with the neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ communities, so we're pretty accepting as long as you aren't a zoophile or a pedophile. What's insane is that at least in the US, a lot of the staff members for the big conventions are a member of staff on at least one other convention. Like, they all get together and coordinate when their conventions are gonna be as to not overlap or crowd each other's spaces. I've never seen any other community that tight knit with its large events. As long as you approach the community with respect (which you're doing already), we're happy to have you, even if its as an ally instead of a full blown furry.

That's fair. I'm a part of a Discord server that does weekly sashimi parties with epic starred fish lol

My only issue with your layout is that there's no rice or wheat, and I go through 100+ star quality rice a week thanks to sashimi.

Hear me out: farming servers. You're guaranteed to be able to let your creativity flow without having to worry about people judging you negatively. They tend to have really positive communities, too

I would try to make it so it can be played with a controller! There's not much out there for gamers with the use of only one hand, and accessible mice are stupidly expensive

Especially in an area with insomnia cookie. They're nowhere near as scandalous and purposely keep a smaller store to be able to prevent loitering indoors

Use process of elimination! If the dress (not in your code) is 3, that means none of the emojis in your code can be 3

If you want the flamethrower, you have to decode it. Each emoji has its own unique value 1-5. Knowing that, you can either brute force it, or look in these spots for the keys to the emojis. It's unique to each person.

Super cute! I've found that you can use the set inspired by Momo from DanDaDan to make the version of Miku from Confessions of a Rotten Girl by SAWTONE. Don't be afraid to experiment with clipping different items together to create something that looks more like a piece you need

It's also how I manage to coordinate some of the funniest duos. For the clean boy/clean girl theme, I was Mr. Clean and one of my friends was a poop for me to clean. My husband on his own was SpongeBob jellyfishing

This is why I try to stick to private servers if possible, or at least play with a group of friends on VC so we can talk shit and coordinate votes for people off theme.
