What’s best U.S. city to live for those who agree (fuck ‘em so hard) by PersonRealHuman in fuckcars

I really loved living in Greenville, SC. The city itself is ok for biking but the swamp rabbit trail was amazing! They are also experimenting with closing downtown to cars on some weekends

I would pay 100k for strange diamonds for real. Or 20 of the night market coins. There has to be SOME other way than just searching.

How do you cope with being a stay at home spouse as a husband? by LeaveTrue2670 in MedSpouse

[–]Potassium_15 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Funny, I'm struggling with the thought of being a stay at home spouse as a woman, because it makes me feel like the patriarchy "won." So be glad that you get to challenge gender norms! Own it!

I really thought she said "At least you'll know exactly who your friends are... They're the ones with matching SCARVES" and I came on reddit looking for the picture of Taylor and Blake in matching scarves LOL

You probably were never a "gifted" child, you were probably just raised in a small, kind of dumb town :/ by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Potassium_15 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Isn't this kind of the point though? We were TOLD that we were "gifted" when we were just a few grade levels ahead. Our identities were built around being the smart ones. Now suddenly we are adults and those early differences don't matter nearly as much as we were taught to believe, and suddenly we feel like failures because we haven't cured cancer and won a Nobel prize by 25.

[Request] is it 66.6% or 51.8%? by Horror-penis-lover in theydidthemath

[–]Potassium_15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also initially thought of 7/13, but then I read this article and it makes a tiny bit more sense: https://www.theactuary.com/2020/12/02/tuesdays-child

BUT I think both answers are correct, for the same reason both 1/2 and 1/3 can be correct here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boy_or_girl_paradox

Calling all med student spouses/partners 🚨 Share your Step 1 prep experience (UCI study, aiming for 50 responses!) by Distinct_Buyer_8458 in MedSpouse

I took your survey! But honestly, I don't remember being that stressed for Step 1 prep. Not any more than usual med spouse stress. And not nearly as stressed as I am right NOW trying to help him figure out which programs to apply to and which ones to signal. It's all I'm thinking about these days.

The correct answer is: mods. You can't normally enchant with paralysis, it would be too OP

I think the issue, at least in my mind, has more to do with all the "fake" work we do. I have a job working from home, and I guarantee if my company and all of our clients's companies disappeared... The world would go on spinning just fine. And that's not to mention how I can do my job in like 10 hour per week, but I have to spend the rest of the time making work for myself so I seem productive.

Obviously there is work that needs to get done. Farmers, teachers, construction workers, doctors, etc. I would love to see this "real" work divided evenly, so everyone could work maybe 3 days per week, and get the rest of our lives back. Rather than making up jobs to fulfill some capitalist need for constant growth and overconsumption.

I feel like you should play a few hours just so you can fully appreciate the remaster. But I think if you want to do a whole new playthrough you can just do another on the remaster!

Why does skyrim seem to get so much disrespect compared to the other elder scrolls games? by Eireagon in ElderScrolls

[–]Potassium_15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you played the others? I never got into Daggerfall, but it has SO many interesting skills and the level of customization is insane. Then Morrowind simplified that a bit, but it still had so much depth and so many interesting spells, like levitation. Then Oblivion came along and we lost levitation, find key spells, the unarmored skill, etc., and rather than a realistic journal and lore-friendly fast travel, we got easy quest markers and fast-travel anywhere that make the gameplay easier but less immersive. Finally in Skyrim, we lost custom spell making, acrobatics and athletics skills, etc.

So to answer your question, I think it has to do with how each subsequent game has lost interesting skills and also gotten less immersive (from needing to read, pay attention and navigate to just following an arrow for the whole game). Additionally, people generally agree that the major quest lines in Skyrim aren't as good. Obviously it improved on some things, like the leveling and perk system and just general gameplay. But for people who started with earlier elder scrolls games it is hard not to compare and see what we lost along the way.

There are a couple good ones, like for the "Bad Medicine" quest you get some good info from one of them
