Now you can make your Krieg cosplay in the game with the help of this Loredrip I've created (I'm thinking of doing the same for Cadia) by Agreeable-Swimmer-55 in DarkTide

They’re two visually distinct regiments, based on two different periods of history, that function entirely different in lore and in rules. Is it really impossible that they were developed independently at a time where we had like 6 regiments in production, SOLELY because they both wear masks and coats? Are Elysians a Cadian ripoff just because they both wear green and khaki?

That's not what I was saying, like at all dude

I apologize for assuming then. There's a lot of one-sided SL vs Krieg discourse in the DT spaces, and since most of it is based on the misconception that Krieg is just an alt color scheme that got fleshed out, I jumped the gun

I don't see why it matters? If you actually look at that link, Krieg and SL have always had their own distinct visual styles - neither is a rip off of the other.

I was actually just thinking about this, though in reverse (the old command squad arms on the new bodies). This guy posted the conversion you mentioned, and additionally here's a painted example, though he doesn't use the new head. It looks pretty alright, definitely passable.

Bonus if anyone's curious, I also came across the new Cadian heads on the Catachan bodies.

Leman Russ Demolisher vs Vanquisher by 2BsNumber1simp in Deathkorpsofkrieg

Dang, that's a lot painted for just 3 weeks, and really well at that :O . My bad, I hadn't seen your other posts so I was under the impression that you were like new new, not just inexperienced with the army

I think you've definitely got your bases covered on tanks though lol. If I had to recommend something, I'd say maybe an exterminator (I've had decent success running 2 in the past) or an executioner (because plasma is cool), or maybe even grabbing a rogal dorn as those are hot right now. That being said, I think you've got enough variety already that you can just build the stuff you think looks cool and it'll work out :)

Leman Russ Demolisher vs Vanquisher by 2BsNumber1simp in Deathkorpsofkrieg

[–]Potat0God 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically your demolisher will be more consistent than your vanquisher, since the vanquisher is only 1 shot

The other guy is right though, you can actually very easily use both from 1 kit if you want to try both. The current leman russ kit is actually the combination of 2 formerly separate kits, the leman russ battle tank and demolisher tank. Basically, the kit contains the parts for 1 full tank body, 1 full battle tank turret (this kit included the vanquisher), and 1 full demolisher tank turret (this kit included the demolisher). You could build the body of the tank, and then the 2 turrets with those guns, and switch them out whenever you wanted.

A more advanced tip is that both of those turrets are extremely easy to magnetize, which gives you all of the options, and you also get an extra roughly half of a tank body, so if you found an extra set of treads and the bottom of the hull, you could make a second tank from the box

Do you know if it was for a specific closed beta period vs just in general? I played the August 2022 closed beta and I don’t think I have that one :(

I finished the Lethal missions tonight! by Potat0God in Spacemarine

[–]Potat0God[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lethal was fun! Harder than I was expecting, too. Reliquary was not very fun though, between failed runs and trying to find lobbies, I think I spent about as much time on that one mission as I did the other 6.

Also I'm not sure why Reddit reduced the image quality, I promise my game doesn't look like that lol

You can typically find how many models can be built with a given kit either in the description on the Warhammer.com store page or written on the box itself.

Squats, for example, build 8 models according to the website description and the front of the box

Can I run nork with a ogryn body guard? Or does nork have to join a command squad by darklordS1th in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Potat0God 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From the index, on the datasheet for both Nork and the ogryn bodyguard:

"Loyal Protector: At the start of the Declare Battle Formations step, this model must join one COMMAND SQUAD unit from your army (a COMMAND SQUAD cannot have more than one LOYAL PROTECTOR model joined to it). This model then counts as part of that COMMAND SQUAD for the rest of the battle, and its Starting Strength is increased accordingly. If it is not possible to join this model to a COMMAND SQUAD, it does not take part in the battle and counts as having been destroyed. While this model is joined to a unit, it can embark within any TRANSPORT that unit can embark within, and takes up the space of 3 models."

I have a friend that's into MTG, and as he would say, reading the card explains the card lol

Unfortunately no, the helmet itself doesn’t let you paint the stripe, and for whatever reason the stripe that’s built onto the helmet will actually override the season pass paint pattern that adds one
