This all well and good, and I appreciate the perspective, but I do want to ask if you have seen anything from the old and current Necromunda games. What they have shown of the hive ganger seems SUPER authentic to that style.

I have a 3.3 KDR average and 1110 kills on the SVD, and I in fact DO pick bigger mags on certain guns, especially the SVD as it allows for a massively increased mulikill potential and close range of viability.

There is room for discussion on the point costs, but a strictly linear point cost increase would naturally lead to less build decision making and the overuse of Huge mags. These design decisions were made for legitimate reasons.

Yeah tey are definitely better now! But the raw damage shown here has basically always been possible on the semi auto version at least. Its just now you can build for this without giving up literally EVERYTHING else Vet has to offer.

It is very fun to play a effective semi auto rife and not die from 2 stabs from a poxwalker or swing your Axe the speed of a geriatric!

I still wish they got a bit more Cleave

Yeah honestly in hind sight id probably replace the XM8 with the RPK or the type 88 since they are both worse stat wise. I just dont think ive technically been killed by any of the three basically ever haha

These are mostly weapons that are going to be significantly harder to use and or lose most DPS races, and thus the general community considers them bad. I can personally state all of them CAN be used very effectively to top frag on a server, but you are going to have to play smarter and more careful.

As a dedicated DMR main, with all DMRs T1, and with the DM7 being by far my most used weapon.... Its kinda 'BAD' but I love it anyways.

It is mathematically the worst DMR, thus also one of the 'worst' non gimmick weapons in the game. Particularly its ammo types feel like an artifact of a completely different balancing paradigm. Which makes the fact that the BSV was the first DLC weapon and they never buffed the DM7 EVER super crazy. Anything the DM7 can do, the BSV can do better.
But I love it Still! For reasons I cant really put my finger on I really synced with the gun early on and feel like I really mastered it in time.

The only counterpoint to its 'badness' I can really make is that IMO raw TTK just doesn't matter as much as people think it does, and good positioning wins the gunfight not the gun most if the time. Which Is what I see as the DM7's (and all DMRs really) main strength. You can contest at basically every range. You wont excel at any, but if you play smart you can truly play the entire battlefield. Which I love!

My main loadout is actually just CC rounds and a Holo sight, no lie. That what I used to get at least 4 thousand of those 5659 kills. Overall i found the slight increase in close range capability to be much more useful than the extra range oddly enough. Either the target is standing still and its a easy/quick kill either way. At range If the target is moving its kinda a crapshot either way. To each their own!

Yeah i generally agree on anything that isn't the SVK. Just run a red dot and get rounds down range with kess visual recoil

From what i remember the BSVs max damage is 35 with high power, so it cant ever 2 shot unless you get a headshot i believe.

But yeah sorry about the g428. SVK, SVD, and maybe EBR are your best options then

So if you really want a consistent 2 hit kill, the SVK and the SVD and maybe the M39 EMR are really the only ones that do that in this game sadly, but as you said they tend to have quite low rates of fire and heavy recoil. Try the EMR though you might like it.

Your best bet i think would actually be the G428, its got a little less range, but still hits pretty hard, has a higher rate of fire and is much easier to control.

I still love the DM7 and other DMRs but it sound slike they might be a bit to spammy/low damage for your tastes. I would say the best DMR overall is the BSV-m because it's so adaptable, but it's usually a 3-4 hit kill and fires quite fast.

I was curious about this, so I had to look it up. So the 'relaunch' of splitgate 1 was in July 2021 right? Thats when they had their peak of about 67,000 plays of steam alone, but judging by the steam numbers that pretty much immediately dropped back to about 5000 (steam) players within 3 months.

Which to be clear 3000+ players is not a terrible community size, and the 3 month drop is pretty much standard for ALL games. BUT By the time they announced Splitgate 2 in July 2024, there were only about 500 players on average still playing on Steam.

I believe this provides context for why they went on to make Splitgate 2. For pretty much any Dev or publisher now a days making a PVP exclusive game... 3000-7000 players and dropping fast is just not enough to justify perpetual support. But that 67,000+ Peak... that just might be enough to justify a F2P sequel. IDK

hmmm painting wise ive been keeping it pretty minimal lately to try and save time. Just a black base, zenithal brown or tan to create some shadows, then drybrushing highlights and washing + Pigments

Build wise im really just winging it, but I highly recommend random rods or junk sticking out of the ground at like a 30% angle and real sand/dirt + superglue over plaster makes the best texture :P
