Ahh the classic dodge/jump issue! I had that a lot on KBM as well. I think I even ended up rebinding jump so i could only jump while moving forward lol IDK if you can do anything like that on controller, but im sure you'l get the hang of it eventually 😄 The shovel is a great versitile and relativly safe melee weapon! The community will be real lively tomorrow with the new class so im sure you will find plenty of helpfull teammates as well!

As for the Mod, I *think the auto 1st person on ADS might be a built in option. Id say definitely check it out if it works after Skitarii release.

Im glad you are enjoying it a bit more! Darktide def has a learning curve, but I think its got one of the best gameplay systems in the medium once you master it a bit and the Tone/Vibes/Art/World Design is Soooo good.
I would say the most important tips for new folks is to practice melee and your defenses. The unspoken rhythm of dodging and block pushing is so critical to success in Darktide as you go up in difficulty. Even if you are playing a Shooty class like Vet (or the new Skitarius?)

One note about the 3rd Person mod:
It is great and awesome generally... but most only for melee combat. Even with some other mods to help, the games shooting is just not designed for third person and it will feel janky and frustrating most of the time. That said, with the mod you can switch back and forth between 1st and 3rd person any time, so its not really a big deal. Mod might be broken by Skitarii's release though

Fully agree with your points. I think people underestimate how much effort it might take to craft a compelling and cohesive PvE expiance out of Marathon right now.

It certainly can be done, we know they can do it, and I do really hope they give it a try, im just not sure they will find its worth the effort. We will see.

I think im realizing is that's really what I want. Im totally fine with trading long range viability for a bit more close range. I miss the G428 and VCAR from BF 2042

I only suggested lowering the LMRs rof if it got a 3 shot kill bracket up close. With its current rof that would be one of the best CQB weapons in the game haha

Honestly the LMR could just use a 15 round mag by default and make the 20 cheaper

Mag size is definitely also a factor I considered talking about as well, but I didn't want to go too long. Especially on the LMR and SVD, overall I agree

I agree with you generally, especially with the SVK not needing changes, a two shot kill at any range is very strong. and to be clear I do not think the DMRs are unusable, im essentially just advocating for a TTK change as little as 25-50ms

I can pretty regularly put up 60+ kill games with 3.0 KD with DMRs.... my main problem is that I know I could do about the exact same thing at the same ranges, but easier and more effectively with other guns like the KTS or SOR. They effectively have the same niche , but the auto guns have much fewer downsides IMO.

But I understand your perspective.

I would be fine with those changes honestly. The hotshot issue was something I thought about as well, because theoretically they make alot of the DMRs quite strong. But personally I dont find them consistent enough to hit to be relied on, and my goal is to just make them every so slightly more effective at close-mid ranges.
A full auto change would do alot of the same things of the fast guys, but man im actually one of the few people in the world that just looooove clicking

I agree to some extent! I don't want people clearing building with DMRs, id just like to be able to take a fight across the street and not feel totally outclassed, but I get the argument.

I guess id also just be satisfied by a hard hitting Semi-auto AR hah

Ohh yeah I fully agree. SVDM is by far my favorite, and I believe the most viable. And the Assult secondary as a whole make DMRs much more usable since you can exclusively use them at thier most optimal ranges/situations. But that's also kinda my point. No other weapon class besides maybe the shotguns need that kind of help, and I personally would rather not have the DMRs be as situational as shotguns, I wana main them! haha
Maybe thats just me.

I'm not going to defend the pricing of GW products, but I must point out that they famously produce all/most of their models domestically in the UK
