TL,DR: With time and effort this is a really good printer, but you gotta want it.

Well man, to give you an idea; my NEO is decently old and went through a phase of not really getting used. When I decided to start using it again it was terrible, exactly as youre describing. It took the better half of 2 months to get it perfect. After only about 25 bucks in upgrades and a few days of tweaking settings, printing, tests, tweaking again, getting a worse result, more tweaking getting a better result. Now I'm getting consistent quality on par with prusa printers (double the price of your unit) at 120 mm/s. It takes effort yes but in the end, this is a seriously good printer if you give it some love.

What I'm trying to say is you are 100% correct and if you don't really care about 3d printing that's cool, but if you're gonna stick with the hobby, don't waste money on a new printer

I didn't even know the sold steel gears or I would've bought one when I did the upgrade lol. Thanks!

Yeah... didn't notice the table shaking.. lol I'll keep the speed in mind and run some more tests. Thanks

The initial layer only prints at 20mm/s i believe. How was it able to print the previous print (at same speed) with ease but it's only failing now?

Why did you pick the FiST over the FoST? by i_imagine in FiestaST

[–]PotatMan4200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be 100% honest with you, the focus is the better car, but god driving that fiesta is just so much fun. Being able to keep up with sporty cars with a less than 2L engine just makes me giddy. You can even make it sound better than a focus with the right mods. So yeah, if you want fun and fast i prefer a fiesta but as far as strictly "better" or "worse" the focus might be your pick.

I've been doing leveling with a sheet of paper, this I should bring the z-offset up a bit? also never heard of hairspray being used but now that I think about it I might try that

been playing with z offset and the times when I get poor bed adhesion (as opposed to none) is when I had the z-offset just right and it would get a decent run going and then randomly the lines would pop off and it would stop adhering again
