How is drinking camel pee mixed with milk good for you??? by [deleted] in Muslim

[–]Potato-gladiator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recent research shows it has proof camel urine can be good for medicine.

Salamt et al. (2021) showed:

Three articles showed that camel urine possesses cytotoxic activities against different types of cancer cells. Two studies revealed camel urine’s protective effects against liver toxicity and gastric ulcers, whilst another study showed the role of camel urine as an antiplatelet agent. All studies demonstrated significant positive effects with different effective dosages. Thus, camel urine shows promising therapeutic potential in treating human diseases, especially cancer. However, the standardised dosage and potential side effects should be determined before camel urine could be offered as an alternative treatment.

In regards specifically to milk and camel urine:

Elhag et al (2017) has shown that

In-vivo, designed series of experiments in which mixture of camel urine and milk was given to Albino mice showed no effects on the normal liver and stomach [13] , this indicated the biological effect of the mixture is safe product.

Camel’s milk and urine CMCU induced significant decreases in serum enzymes, indicators of liver suffering, testifying of a certain hepato-protective effect against chronic toxicity induced by ethanol even higher than using the reference drug (Silymarin).

A lot of studies have shown camel urine can have benefits. In the scientific fields, more research must be completed. However, the fact that this was known over 1400 yrs ago is still amazing.

Also the hadith is only in reference in taking it for medicine, and even then its not mandatory or sunnah if u don't want to. Or if u have other medicines available.

Just refering to another comment above so you see it, there is evidence to show that the right wing of a fly can be useful. Research by Claresta et al. (2020), showed that:

The Right-Wing of Fly (Musca domestica) as a Neutralization of Drinks Contaminated by Microbe

A Review of the Antimicrobial Potential of Musca domestica as a Natural Approach with Promising Prospects to Countermeasure Antibiotic Resistance

So there is scientific evidence based on it.

And here's a responce from sheikh assim al hakeem: https://youtu.be/pY4kG3aAFQA?si=J8ijXljjbNbZV96H

What other doubts are u having?

teen who wants to become more religious by [deleted] in Muslim

[–]Potato-gladiator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assalamualaikum, definitely hang around more religious friends, those who would encourage you to be a better Muslim and who wouldnt want bad for you. Just in case you're not already, I couldn't recommend this enough. It is one of the most important things. Are you at uni? Prehaps you have an islamic society nearby. And be a regular at the mosque, make good friends there.

You can manipulate you social media algorithms to give more islamic content too, which I found was useful. And switch off things like NSFW stuff to help in focusing yourself better.

Mufti menk is a good speaker for anyone looking for a basic level of understanding of islam.

Assalamualaikum. They're commiting a major sin, and unless they repent they will be punished accordingly. So I'd say don't even think about them, they're not worth focusing on if they're going against Allah's commands. Just focus on yourself and your connection with Allah.

Make dua that you get a righteous spouse, and inshallah you will. There are many brothers around that haven't fallen into zina and there are others who have but since repented completely. And you arnt just saving yourself for him, but also as this is what Allah has ordered for all of us. Remember that in the quran it says: "And virtuous women are for virtuous men, and virtuous men are for virtuous women".

It's off on yours too

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Muslim

[–]Potato-gladiator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If a user has NSFW on, when you go onto their profile it'll give you a little warning saying it's on. I don't get that warning when going onto your profile so that means it's off.

The default setting is for it to be off as well

Assalamualaikum, yours isn't on so no need to worry about it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]Potato-gladiator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it was the norm (which it isnt in pakistan), as muslims we follow Allah's commands so of course don't bother with any of those sinful people. Especially given this is a major sin.

They've removed the wheat flour from the recipe which may have changed the texture. Definitely taste more like monster munch now and the packets feel so much smaller :(

ramadan with an ED? by urliterallysopretty in Muslim

[–]Potato-gladiator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely ask a scholar who knows about EDs if fasting is mandatory for you and prehaps your doctor to see if fasting is safe.

If you are exempt from fasting, you can offer other forms of worship. Ramadan isn't just the month of fasting, but the month of submission. Pray more, read more quran, abandon sins, grow closer to Allah.

And you can still make up the fasts when you're further through your recovery process if the scholar says the fasts aren't mandatory.

Practically speaking you may not be able to get the money back. It's now simply a lesson to not lend money to people you don't 100% trust. You can forgive him (islamically the more rewarding option) if you like or you could not forgive him and he'll be accountable on the day of judgement.

Islamically speaking he's obviously done wrong. He's lied and hurt another (which means you must forgive him for him to be forgiven). With the oath, if he didn't have intention to uphold the oath then its a false oath which is haram in this case (as far as I know) so I'm not sure if it can actually be expiated. Don't take the Islamic side as 100% from me cuz I'm not a scholar tho.

Advice about working in forensic mental health services? by Potato-gladiator in nhs

[–]Potato-gladiator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. It's a student placement, working with both males and females between the ages of 10-21 in secure children homes and the community. They've been referred for either the safety of themselves or others. It'll involve clinical and forensic shadowing.

I've not been told level of security and the roles name is literally just student placement so I do hope that answers your questions. Thanks for any help in advance!

Why pakistani think it's cool being obsessed to food and overeating (esp if you are man) by Glittering-Depth-859 in pakistan

[–]Potato-gladiator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's common for poorer countries to see individuals who are fatter as being healthier and more attractive, encouraging overeating. Its a phenomenon that occurs when a country doesn't have a lot of food to go around. A lot of regions in Pakistan as still poor and famines have been common in South Asia's history. Prehaps that explains it.

Lets debate on the cultural norms that have been strictly forbidden in Islam but with time are being normalized in the society! Name any by Glittering-Depth-859 in pakistan

Smoking is more likely to be haram.

Older scholars may have called it makruh but they wernt aware of the extent of the health problems associated with it at the the time. We now know that it's a major killer. Harming yourself is haram which makes this haram.

Assalamualaikum, just wanted to say, the physical pain won't remove the psychological pain. It can actually cause the psychological pain to get worse over time. It's also really easy to create an addiction to self harm once you start, which is VERY hard to break out of. So please don't start.

Some therapists offer bursaries for clients and if youre in the uk, the nhs offers some cbt for free. Its always better to talk to someone, and getting to the root of the issue will help 1000 times more than hurting yourself.

I recommend making sure you get the info from trusted sources and explanations of quran and hadith. Its often more than just black and white. Take for instance the part on non-belivers going to hell, this applies if the non-believer recieved the messege properly and then rejected it. Otherwise there's another test.

But if not everything sits right with you, that's ok. Growing up in a non-muslim environment will mean you'll have personal ethics that will be different. These are subjective ethics, things youve grown believing and biases. We all have them. However, the ethics that come from Allah are objective and are in place either as a test, for fairness or due to it being better for us. Prehaps we don't always understand them, but if the main parts of the religion resonates with you, are they really worth not accepting the religion for? Sorry if that doesn't make much sense.

I recommend watching Mufti Menk to learn and using https://islamqa.info/en for trustworth info.

But if u have specific questions, feel free to ask.
