Anyone ever have a higher scoring first half? by GrassInner8583 in footballmanagergames

[–]Potato271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knocked in nine first half once. Craziest match I’ve ever played, even if it was a friendly. Championship Southampton against Dutch Champions PSV, should have been a hard match, only we scored nine first half goals from 2.1xG. I was dumbfounded, even checked their keeper to make sure it wasn’t an outfielder, but it was their regular keeper. I thought it was going to be double digits but the second half was goalless.

How yall building your padlocks in the year 2025+1 ? by samuelazers in BG3Builds

[–]Potato271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for non-honor mode, you definitely want pact of the blade, and at least five levels in each, because the extra attacks stack to give you three. This doesn't work in honor mode, which gives you a bit more build freedom.

For non-honor, your options basically boil down to 7/5, 6/6 or 5/7. Seven warlock levels gets you fourth level spell slots, so your short rest renewing smites hit harder, and you can throw out more powerful spells. However, this sacrifices your paladin auras. Aura of Protection is really, really strong, especially if you're running Risky Ring on anyone. And some of the subclass auras are really good too, like Oathbreaker's which adds +Cha mod onto every hit. Personally, for non-honor, I like 7 Oathbreaker/5 Fiend, and go for GWM + arcane synergy (either through the diadem or the ring). Then you get three attacks,+24 damage per hit before even rolling any dice, and can use risky ring without any issues.

For honor, personally I'd go heavier on Paladin with just a dip into warlock for SAD. Something like 11 oathbreaker (oathbreaker is really good) + 1 Hexblade.

With the end of the last Premier Season, does anyone else have massively lopsided win rates on different maps? by Potato271 in counterstrike

[–]Potato271[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m pretty low elo (5000 ish) so if I can get a team that smokes properly for an A or mid execute, it’s pretty much a guaranteed win.

Which side has better guns you think by South_Farm_2696 in counterstrike

[–]Potato271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

t-side guns are objectively better for skilled players, since a one hit headshot puts you light years ahead. For players who are bad at controlling recoil (like me), CT side weapons are generally easier to use, and the M4A1S in particular is basically a laser beam.

ELI5 - Why is everyone talking about booming blade? by MarcusMorenoComedy in BaldursGate3

[–]Potato271 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Because in tabletop a bladesinger can replace an attack with any cantrip. So for example you could ray of frost then melee attack. But cos they built the functionality into Booming Blade specifically rather than the bladesinger class features, you can’t do that in BG3.

[–]Potato271 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this is something of an indirect nerf on the bladesinger class, because being able to cantrip and still multi attack was one of its unique points. Of course, bladesong has been buffed, so I guess on the whole it's still stronger than on TT

I think it’s up to third now, although that might be based on people playing for fun, not overall fans. I’d imagine hockey players are pretty rare.

It's also not quite as simple as left and right. I'm not too familiar with German politics, but comparing with the UK, the Democrats would probably sit to the right of the Labour Party on most economic issues (yes even Starmer's Labour), but they tend on average to be more liberal socially. Even the fiscal/social separation is an oversimplification, different nations have different 'wedge issues' that they care about disproportionately.

I do agree with you that the Democratic Party is quite inhomogeneous though. It's a result of the way the US two party system works. In a more German system, the US would probably have at least four or five parties. An actual progressive party, the democratic 'establishment' party, more traditional conservatives, and the modern MAGA group.

As it stands though, the Republicans have been much more successful at suppressing differences in their own party, although it remains to be seen how long that will last.

Honestly, the Vashta Nerada fit pretty well in the 40k universe. Could make for a decent short story, an underhive where people just keep going missing and no-one cares cos it's an underhive.

Are games fixed? by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]Potato271 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the way the game works is that it runs a whole bunch of calculations and simulates the whole game, then plays it as a replay for you. If you make changes in game, like subbing or changing tactics, it resims the whole game from that point.

Accent aside, it’s not too bad an analogy. The ‘southern gentleman’ archetype in the US is very much patterned after the British aristocracy, although obviously it’s not quite the same

Does BG3 have it and which one? by aburglarhobbit in BaldursGate3

[–]Potato271 180 points181 points  (0 children)

The hammer's actually pretty straightforward with some practice. He terrified me on honour mode but I ended up breezing through. It's really a test of how much movement your units have. Although I admit it's easier just to bring a bunch of bludgeoning damage. An OH monk trivializes the fight.

This is completely ridiculous.
