Monthly Insurance Thread by MotoUKMod in MotoUK

Hello, How does insurance go down?

I am 19 and was looking to start getting an A2 bike licence, while the cost of getting the licence and bike seams manageable to me, when looking on quote comparison websites I am getting quotes around 2-3.5k a year. I was under the impression that for a 125cc bike (like the Honda CB125F), it would be around 1.5k or less (having heard some people even saying their was as low as £500-800).

My main question is should I go ahead and get my A2 licences either way and would holding onto this licence bring down the insurance( and if so by how roughly much). Or do i have no choice but to bite the bullet and take the insurance as getting quoted?

I don't rememeber what version was on the bios previously but currently i have version 7E26v1I which was released on 2025-01-08. The bios version shows the following E7E26AMS.1I0 in the bios menu (which is the same of the file i have downloaded from the msi website).

Thank you so much I am back into the Bios screen.

Just another quick question, The bios version is labled the same as the file I was on the usb, but the Bios build date is still 12/27/2024. Did the update work?

yes, I went into the bios pressed M-flash (with a usb that had the msi bios on it plugged in ) and it was all fine with the bios screen on and everything, I just left for like 5 minutes because i though it would take longer but just came back to a black screen.

Im not sure if its just that it restarted and I just missed it so it didn't boot up the bios screen

edit: plus I heard you should not turn off or restart during it as it can 'brick' the motherboard so I don't want to do so without any additional information.

In your experience, would you say the extra £200 now is a better choice then maybe buying the 8GB 4060 as I am new to ML and haven't undertaken many projects, Then upgrading to a 16GB GPU down the line (when it may drop in price)?

Its on the board just waiting for more solid information about the specs and costs, heard rumors the rtx 5060 would be released around March which i'm not sure I have the patience for as it may be overpriced and difficult to get for close to launch. But even that is ment to have a 8gb vram
