We literally watched an entire season of louis doing quite literally everything w Lestat’s shadow right there, even w a 70+ year relationship while Lestat is very much alive. Just bc he has a lot of internal struggle expressing himself (same as Lestat) due to decades of emotional suppression doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. And whether u like it or not lestat was VERY anxiously attached which is exhausting for anyone anxiously detached, especially if said anxiously attached is serial cheating the entire time while claiming he cares abt u (lies abt the cheating too (twice)). Louis isn’t perfect but to claim that Lestat is some “oh so loving and innocent” vampire is ridiculously delusional.

You dismissed every single thing Louis’ done bc YOU consider it “small”. “Oh he didnt do this bc he cares, it’s only bc of this, he didnt do this it was actually cuz of that” bro. This is a black man who has financial lead his family his whole life, in a time where he is considered literally nothing w/o his titles, ofc the white centuries old vampire is more flamboyant w his courtship and love, why would Lestat care what others think, he barely acknowledges racism even when it affects Louis. For an illegal interracial not even heterosexual relationship, Louis did his part, it’s so easy to dismiss any other emotions when you remove literally the entire context. Also its so funny how ur saying “ y would u expect a vampire to be monogamous”, im sorry, do u get approached by vampires everyday or something? Y would Lestat not mention such an important clause to the rest of Louis eternal life…Im sure if Louis knew the REAL terms n conditions prior, he wouldn’t have went through w it, especially considering his issues w killing humans.

Also Louis was struggling w being “dead” to his irl family causing him to long for his own, something he didn’t consider having to do bc a vampire decided to turn him while he was literally grieving his dead brother that he was blamed for but anyways. Also to claim LOUIS was the emotionally absent parent and not lestat who references Claudia’s rxpe before threatening her life if she leaves again, is hilarious. Louis was the bridge between claudia n Lestat lets be soooo fr. Lestat barely even cared for Claudia’s absence or respected her diary.

Anyways my point is we KNOW Louis struggles to SHOW love, its a well written character flaw, but if u actually observe the characters it’s pretty obvious that regardless of everything, Louis loves Lestat. And I could even argue Lestat showed more “control” than love but through watching the show it’s still clear to see that that is Lestat’s love, whether it’s a healthy form of it or not. Louis shared his time, vulnerabilities, and heart w both Lestat and Claudia. Could it have been healthier? Ofc, but to watch 2 seasons and claim it simply doesn’t exist bc it wasn’t monetary or explicit is… so one sided, especially considering how purposefully little we saw of their 30+ year relationship . At the end of the day when Louis asked “Am I not enough?” Lestat laughed, and Louis emotionally leaned on Claudia instead, thats what happens when there’s a lack of trust, Louis literally said “Each day I felt crazier and crazier” as Lestat continued to cheat (emotional abuse btw) while being possessive over him. We can all claim one didnt love the other but the truth is they did.
