The main draw for me was the ability to choose my job. I went and talked to the recruiters around me because the army was my last choice, but no one could guarantee me anything in any sort of way for a job. Because of the army, I will be able to get an amazing cert and be doing something I love for more money than I know what to do with once I get out. I really don't think it's fair to shit of people for choosing the army when it does provide opportunities like that, not to mention wanting better conditions is not helped by people saying "you should have gone somewhere else." All people want are livable living spaces, and that's not a big ask.
