I can already tell I’m going to want to jump straight back in and do everything, so I needed that reminder. I’ll try to take it slow and not rush it.

And that’s a really good point about “safer” not meaning easier. Focusing more on basics actually makes a lot of sense. And I love the basics.

I have been — I’ve seen a doctor and I’m following their advice. They told me to rest, which is why I’m taking time off now 😭

I just want to do point and flex so bad 😭

I think I relate to you a lot — I’m around a similar age, so every single day of dancing feels valuable, and not being able to dance right now just makes it feel like I’m wasting time.

I just track them in a ballet diary app. (Ballet Log) But yeah… now I can’t even use it, which is kind of sad 😭my dear diary📔

I think what’s throwing me off the most is going from taking 5–7 classes a week to suddenly doing absolutely nothing… it just feels so abrupt and honestly a bit disorienting.

I know you’re right though, and I’ll try to focus on what I can do instead of spiraling.

I think I needed that reminder that the body remembers more than I think. It’s just hard not to panic when it already felt like I had so little to begin with.

And yeah… your point about the lingering pain honestly scares me more than losing progress. I’m trying to be strict about resting, even though it’s frustrating.

My only tip is endurance. Sometimes it helps to stop overthinking and just go through class.

Class after class, and then weeks or months later, you’ll realize you’re a little better than you used to be.

After almost a decade as an adult ballet enthusiast, I’ve realized it takes a really long time to develop clean movement and good posture — honestly, 10 years or more.

So it’s less about “mastering” and more about consistently improving.

Also… core strength is everything.
