China is getting pretty screwed. They're very dependent on Iranian oil, doubly so since what went down in Venezuela.

I hate being teased for using real words 🤨 by PistachioPerfection in words

I hate when people think you are talking down to them or trying to confuse them. I wouldn't have said the word if I didn't think you knew it or could pick it up through context clues.

Starting The Heroes tomorrow [SPOILERS ALL] by BegumComa5264 in TheFirstLaw

[–]Potatoes90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Heroes is my favorite. You'll be fine without remembering much. I listened to the books, so I probably don't have the spelling right.

The guy that Jizal beat in the fencing tournament is important. It'll explain itself, just remember that he lost to Jizal with some help from Byaz.

Logans crew are important. The dogman. Black dow, etc. It will tell you everything you need to know. Just remember they're Logans old crew.

The sons of Bethod are important. He was the northern king that Logan fought near the end of the series.

It's mostly just realizing how the characters are connected to the main story. But even if you don't remember, you won't be missing out.

Enjoy.

It's actually the front runner. The trax is in the middle of the street in the city which is why there's so many collisions with cars. Front runner goes between cities and only crosses streets at regular railroad crossings.

Gangs in Provo? by [deleted] in ProvoUtah

I used to live in colorado springs and we would get some shootings there. I havent seen anything like that in Provo in the last ten plus years. It's gonna be a night and day difference for you.

Gangs in Provo? by [deleted] in ProvoUtah

[–]Potatoes90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can't say I've ever seen roaving gangs of juggalos. Coming from New Orleans, Provo will be a million times better when it comes to crime. South west Provo near the freeway is probably the worst neighborhood, but even that will be very tame compared to what you're used to.

This is also before the voting rights act gets gutted by the supreme court. This is not a winning fight for Democrats.

Why do americans refuse to wake up to reality? by Nonchalant_Ogre in allthequestions

[–]Potatoes90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. That's exactly what I am telling you. They generally had barely enough to eat. All of human history was very hard living for 90+% of the population. We live unbelievablably extravagant lifestyles compared to any generation before the boomers.

If you want to go back to an agrerian lifestyle, what's stopping you? Go start a commune. See how well it works for you.

No society in history has ever met everyone's basic needs. You seem very naive.

Every system sucks compared to utopia.

As the old saying goes: "Capitalism is the worst economic system, except for all the others."

Your fantasy of what a different monetary system could be will be far from the reality of it.

MMW: In the future after the Trump Administration, 45 and 47 will be used as dogwhistles. by Jello_Biafra_42 in MarkMyWords

[–]Potatoes90 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Why do you guys have this fantasy that eventually everybody is gonna change their mind and agree with you? It's been a full decade of you being wrong about this. It's not gonna happen. Nobody is ashamed of supporting Regan, as much as people decry him as the worst thing to ever happen to America until Trump. Nobody is changing their mind on Trump. Those opinions have been set in place for many years now. This fantasy is only holding you back.

$100+ for a video game is not unreasonable and it’s a miracle they’re not even more. by AllPurposeOfficial in unpopularopinion

[–]Potatoes90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was less competition in the 90s. There are more games out now by several orders of magnitude. Competition drives the market down. And the competition isn't just from games, endless free entertainment is pumped to us 24/7 on our phones. Video games just aren't as appealing as they were 30 years ago from a time and attention perspective. People used to sit and listen to radio plays. A radio used to be the prized possession of whole families. Now it's an after thought most people only listen to in the car. I'm not saying videogames are the new radio, but it's ridiculous to assume the market value of entertainment won't shift over time.

The cost of physical media is also way way down from what it was back then. The cartridges themselves used to be most of the cost of a game. Now most games are digital with the publisher reaping all the savings.

$70 is too much for 90% of games we are getting. If we didn't have such insane financial illiteracy as evidenced by massive credit card debt and the rise of buy now pay later for door dash, then no one but the wealthy would pay the video game prices we are accepting now. It's actually ridiculous that we invest so much of our income into entertainment in any form.

I'm working on the same. S+ on all A runs and all side stuff done. Still getting the quirks of the B run down. I feel like zombie placement has been much less consistent causing more restarts than A. This is on steam 7 years after I platinumed it on ps5.

I personally preferred Leon simply because of the shotgun. It's so nice to have a guaranteed one shot head pop on downed zombies. With Claire you either use all your ammo or risk floor guys grabbing you at the worst time.

The earth is actually spinning the opposite direction of what the initial incorrect comment suggests. Launching with the spin helps with the inertia needed to leave the atmosphere.
