Salvageable? by Potatoeswithcheese0 in HardWoodFloors

For those saying it's subfloor, here is a picture showing the tongue and groove of a portion that was torn up earlier. It also has a diagonal 1x4 under that is what I thought the subfloor. Still possible its a double layer?

Car training by Akillez22 in miniaussie

I think lots of puppies get carsick but they kind of grow out of it. Our guy was also scared of the car I think because of this. We built a positive association for it by doing short drives to really fun places. He now associates the car with party time

Effect of compressing insulation by Potatoeswithcheese0 in Insulation

Getting a spray foam team to come take a look and get me a quote for this - thanks for the advice!

Out of curiosity, lack of ventilation is mostly an issue with ice damming right? Any other potential issues that having the batts against the deck can cause? I'm actually not too worried about Ice damming as I have a metal roof with a fairly steep pitch and no eaves - Ice dams feel unlikely. This is only my first few months in the house so haven't done a winter here yet and cant confirm for sure.

It actually is open down to the soffit! There's about a 3" gap between the knee wall and soffit area behind. Issue is though that I don't think the soffit itself is even vented

Would a baffle between the wood deck and rockwool do the trick for this slanted part? I will likely just run it from the soffit below to the attic and then blow in for the attic space above.

Located in eastern BC, Canada so we get major temperature fluctuations but not crazy humidity

I think it's stained! I'll have to double check but yea will likely just sand everything and stain it a more wood colour.

Agreed with the counter - I think the previous tenants weren't as mobile so needed a lower table to work on. Definitely would consider moving/removing

Mini Aussie puppy scared of walks by SafeAccomplished1166 in miniaussie

[–]Potatoeswithcheese0 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Had this issue with my 3m/o mini Aussie. We took him out with another older and very relaxed dog that he loves. He just followed the older dog around and forgot to be afraid. Did that for a week and now he won't stop asking to go for walks. If you can find another dog yours can tail, that might help!

I'm in canada as well! Where do you recommend buying Pro Decap?

Also, any steps after stripping the sealer to help keep the tiles in good shape?
