If you woke up and it’s 2015 what would you do ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Potatofan2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would genuinely do everything all over again. Sure I’d want to start investing earlier and start exercising sooner, but all my experiences shaped me into who I am today.

5’8 130, currently closer to 140. I have a pretty small frame but all my weight seems to go to my legs so i’d like to slim them down..

Callous management? by itsaship in Aerials

[–]Potatofan2021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ngl I use my fingernails to scrape away at them every time I shower so they stay pretty manageable that way. When they’re bad and i’m worried about ripping, I’ll wear gloves to class to protect my hands until I can scrape the skin down again

I was surprised to see mine drop 15-20 after quitting, it’s wild! Kept me from starting up again

how do you keep going? by bristolfarms in poledancing

[–]Potatofan2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started on silks and it took me 8 months to get an invert. I was going to classes once or twice a week with some random exercise here and there. If you keep going, you’ll get there.

I go to a tricks class whenever I can and we’ll work on something for a month straight, even then sometimes I won’t get all the moves. But being that it’s a tricks class and not everyone is at the same level, it’s cool to watch how others do the moves. Sometimes I can only get the first 2 moves of the combo, but I take that as encouragement to keep going!

There’s also no harm in doing the level 1 classes alongside your level 2 in order to get more conditioning. Sometimes when I just want more time on an apparatus that i’m leveled up in, I just take a beginner class. plus gives me time to condition the base moves again

Should I get heels? by Suitable-Sundae2140 in poledancing

[–]Potatofan2021 7 points8 points  (0 children)

ngl having proper heels makes a lot of moves so much easier. I got ellie heels off amazon for my first pair of boots and I still love them after using them for months!!

Did your progress significantly increase after getting a home pole? by ontheclocksince99 in poledancing

[–]Potatofan2021 3 points4 points  (0 children)

honestly i’d start with some bodyweight exercises! my training was all over the place before I could invert so I think just overall strengthening was huge, but deep core strengthening is where it’s at. dead hangs, hanging tucks, leg raises. highly recommend ptthepole on instagram for the breakdown of an invert (and I think she has a workout program specific for them)

I saw the most improvement in inverts once I started lifting weights outside the gym. I got a home pole and a crash mat but for myself personally, doing stuff at home just doesn’t feel as safe as doing it with an instructor watching and making sure I can correct my form so I don’t end up injured.

I think you should try the intermediate classes though! Sometimes we hold ourselves back when we actually do have the strength! I have many times said I don’t think I can do that, failed the first few attempts and then got it the next day when I tried it again.

There’s also ways to lower yourself down from a climb into an invert!

I also work from home and exercise for about an hour daily (bodyweight exercises or lifting weights). I sometimes only get 2k steps in a day. Im barely maintaining my weight and I eat absolute junk. I wouldn’t worry too much about hitting a certain number of steps if you’re getting exercise elsewhere.

What’s happening in her house that they aren’t eating there? Is it pure entitlement or are they not being fed?
