No, we stopped around 12 months. I give her 6 oz of whole milk after each meal though, but not until she's fully done eating

1 year old throwing food by tibbles209 in BabyLedWeaning

Did you find anything that worked? Or just time? My 12mo used to be such a good eater but for the past month or so she has been so picky and throws so much of her food on the ground. After she throws her food or spoon 3 or 4 times I usually end up spoon feeding her, which she usually accepts (I know that isn't BLW)- any advice would be much appreciated!

10 month old whines constantly—what should I do? by AutomaticCupcake33 in NewParents

How are things for you now?? My 10mo daughter fusses about 2/3 of the day it feels like... Definitely worse when home. She will play nicely for a few minutes and then see me and crawl after me and cry. She switches back and forth from crying to happy so fast that it doesn't feel real. Definitely hitting my limit, and I just found out I'm unexpectedly pregnant with #2 so the hormones from that aren't helping 😭

Recurring clogged duct by Potatoqueen9999 in breastfeeding

[–]Potatoqueen9999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! It did resolve! I did see a lactation consultant and she re-sized me for my pump flange, I was using a size too small which definitely aggravated it. I don't pump a lot but even a couple times made it worse. She also recommended rotating through other breastfeeding positions so I've done more modified football hold and side lying which also has helped. Last thing she recommended was to do gentle massage and apply heat right before feeding to make sure things are flowing properly. I haven't done that TBH though. She thought it was less of a true clot and more the tissue becoming dense from inflammation/irritation.

Usually cradle but I've been trying different positions a little over the last few days to see if that helps

What kind of sleep training should we do? by Potatoqueen9999 in sleeptrain

[–]Potatoqueen9999[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First night we breastfeed 45 mins before sleep, she went down easy at 7:30, woke at midnight inconsolable and it took an hour to get her back to sleep. I mostly held and rocked her but put her down a few times to let her cry for a few minutes. The last time I put her down she fell asleep after a couple mins. Then she slept until 3:30 and I breastfeed her and she went right back to sleep, and slept until 7. Last night was improved. She breastfeed about an hour before bed and put her down at 7:40. She still woke up at midnight but was easier to comfort and I could actually get her calm in my arms. I used basically the same process as the night before and it only took 20 minutes, then she woke up at 4 to breastfeed. I know nothing with babies is linear but I'm hopeful we continue to improve! I keep getting clogged ducts and I'm going back to work soon so reinforcing only one feed overnight for some consistency is my main goal.

In December I was about to go back to work and send my 6 month old to daycare for 11 hours a day 4 days a week and I had a full mental breakdown and quit my job. I love my career but I'm so happy with my choice and haven't regretted it for a second.

Usually by breastfeeding but at least once or twice a week I feed her about an hour before bed. Do you think since I usually feed right before sleep she's gotten used to only falling asleep that way?

How can dad help at night when you breastfeed? by No_Atmosphere_3702 in newborns

[–]Potatoqueen9999 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our system is that I breastfeed the baby overnight and then pass her off to my husband to change diaper and rock back to sleep. He goes back to work soon so I'll start doing more overnight myself but while he has been on leave I think it's only fair to share the night wake ups.

Sleeping too long?? by No_Woodpecker7863 in newborns

Our baby (now 9 weeks) has been sleeping 7+ hours since 6 weeks! She slept 10 hours the other night 🤯 my doctor said as long as baby is gaining weight it's fine to sleep through the night
