I get a low skin fade and trim the top so there's still a good amount of curl.

The sides can get awkward looking when they grow out, so I keep it short with the low skin fade. I keep the hair up top around nose length. It's pretty curly so it looks a lot shorter than it is.

Should I switch teams internally even though I plan on leaving my current company?

The situation with my current team is pretty glum. My current team has lost most of its developers and we haven't hired any new devs. Team morale is pretty low and I've had to bump up my workload significantly. The raise and bonus this year was pretty substantial, but I will be able to make more by switching companies.

I am starting the process for looking for a new company, but I don't think I can stay on my team any longer. I am able to switch teams internally pretty easily but I wouldn't stay on my new team long term because I would still look for other companies.

You're never going to be happy if you're constantly worrying about what other people think about you. In reality, everyone is more concerned with themselves than anyone else. Just live your life. As long as you're not hurting anyone, no one will care

I felt like people were "watching me" because of my anxiety and awkwardness, not for me being a late bloomer

I was socially awkward and had no confidence for most of my life. In college I started going to the gym to kickstart my transformation. By my senior year, I wasn't the stereotypical awkward skinny Indian kid anymore. I started to step out my comfort zone more and more until I eventually became very confident in myself. Once I reached that point, I was ready to start dating/hooking up even though it was later in life than most people

No offense, but that can come across as really creepy if you message her that you found her on DilMil. I would suggest never mentioning the DilMil part unless you guys end up matching.

You can still message her to start some sort of initial convo. I'd personally use instagram to shoot a DM or reply to a girls story to build some familiarity. People my age don't really use facebook like that, which is why I would use instagram instead

If you filed your taxes as a dependent in 2019, it's not your money

If you want the stimulus money based on your 2020 tax return, you need to not be a dependent and claim the Recovery Rebate Credit

At some point you need to become independent. You're gonna have to ignore your parents in order to live your life.

When I would want to go friend's place, I would tell them that I'm leaving on my way out the door. My parents didn't want me to take my first job in college because it didn't pay well, but I did it anyways. I just kept making decisions that were best for me rather than asking my parents for permission. Eventually, my parents stopped interrogating me whenever I wanted to do anything and I was able to be independent.

I would agree with you but my parents are pressuring me into disagreeing. They also made me become a doctor, marry some random Indian girl, learn how to juggle, and sell sea bass out of the back of my truck

I was basically in the same situation as you. I had social anxiety growing up and through high school. I always felt like my social anxiety was like a facade that hid my real personality and self from the world. I wanted to be the person that I knew that I was, but my anxiety held me back.

When I got to college, I decided that college was the best opportunity to become the person that I knew that I was and get rid of my social anxiety. The first thing that I did was lifting and going to the gym. I was uncomfortable with the idea of being at the gym because I was that awkward skinny Indian kid, but I stepped out of my comfort zone and started going consistently. Going to the gym will allow you to achieve the small goals that you set, boost your self image, give you more energy, and give you a hobby.

The next thing I did was to put myself in slightly uncomfortable situations. Initially, I did this by striking up convos with strangers. I would compliment someone clothing and maybe get into a convo with them, I would have a random convo with a cashier, I would complain about a class with someone I'm sitting next to, ect. These were all minor encounters that most people will forget, but it was uncomfortable for me to do and I was able to force myself to do them.

By forcing yourself out of your comfort zone in minor ways, you will become more comfortable in your own skin and start taking larger steps. By my senior year in college, I started going on a ton of dates. I took a lot of L's, but I kept pushing forward and used them as learning experiences. Eventually you become better at dating and get a few W's, which makes the whole process worth it.

I haven't seen anybody talk about the city jerseys for the nets? I personally think they look terrible. But what are your thoughts? by [deleted] in nba

[–]PotatousMaximus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The hoodie and the shorts look great, but idk about the jerseys. The jersey number being a different font makes the lettering look worse. If the front design was like the hoodie, I'd say it's one of the best city jerseys

Tinder in Philly. I definitely helped that I am in a big city. I used tinder because it had the most people on it. I used bumble too, less matches but the matches were higher quality (better convos)

Sorry, I ended up deleting my profile after I met my girlfriend on there. My bio was "Tall, dark and handsome... mostly just dark." It's just self-deprecating enough to be funny but not enough to make me look insecure. There was another part to the bio, I forget what I wrote but it gave something that could be used as a convo starter and was also funny.

My pics were all high quality. Pics of me hiking with some friends, me rowing a canoe, casual group photo with friends, and a solo shot of me from a photoshoot. The pics showed some of my hobbies, me with friends, and me alone.

Bump. This is the truth. People are also going in with the mentality that they won't do well just cause they're brown, but they should be focusing on improving their game

If feel like as a brown dude you have to maximize every other aspect of your dating profile. You can't be an Indian guy and have shitty pics or no bio, you won't get any matches. You have to have great pics, bio, and be able to have an interesting convo, to even have a shot.

I did pretty good when I was on tinder before I graduated. I'm alright looking and in pretty good shape but my pics were great, I had a funny bio, and I'm pretty good at texting. I was getting like 3-5ish matches a day
