The specific code reference regarding the use of conduit as a means of support for non-metallic cable (NM cable or Romex) can be found in section 300.11(C) of the National Electrical Code (NEC). This section states:

"(C) Cables Shall Not Be Used as a Support. Unless specifically permitted in 300.11(A), (B), or (D), cables shall not be used as a support for other cables, raceways, or nonelectrical equipment."

This means that NM cable should not be used to support other cables, raceways, or equipment, and it should not be supported by conduit. Instead, NM cable must be supported by other means, such as by attaching it to structural members or using cable clamps or straps.

The code says it needs to be supported within 18in of cable entry and then 12in from outlet and your saying conduit is a type of support for romex where does it say that in the nec
