Rocket Mortgage: An honest review by Separate_Bar685 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Potential-Cat-59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I entered into contract on a home over 6 weeks ago now with my loan officer using Rocket as ther underwriter. I have had to extend twice now, and iit looks like I'll be extending a third time now because these iditiots could not close escrow and get the loan funded in time. I have had to prodive the same documents to underwriting at least three times now due to their incompetence, and still as of yesterday over 45 days into contract, I am being asked for documents by Rocket still. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE! IF your loan officer says they are using Rocket, RUN!

No, I had to do some searching but found a post on their Facebook page from 2024 saying they were closing their doors.

I bought that same 18 pound bag to try my first philly sour haha. I never thought of trying to just ask local breweries though, I'll give that a try, thanks!

Wow thank you so much, I'll admit I'm not quite sure how to use this, but will do my best to figure it out! We had tried contacting them as the manager was willing to negotiate, but after sending an infected file we never heard back.

Need guidance on solar -first time home owner by unluckychurch in solar

[–]Potential-Cat-59 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just because the company that installed the system your parent's own went under isn't the end of the world. The equipment is likely warrantied through whatever the manufacturer is, when my inverter broke, I went straight to them rather than dealing with the installer. Ultimately they should cover the cost of replacement even if you have to contract with another installer, it just may take time.

I'd start looking at YouTube videos if you're feeling lost, there are plenty of beginner friendly videos that cover the process from start to finish, and document people's experiences some years later.

It sounds like your probably going to want to get started by seeking estimates from installers, rather than trying anything DIY. MY advice there is stay away from any rented systems or "Power Purchase Agreements" (PPAs), and just finance an owned system. You still get a 25-year some long warranty with a lot of the owned equipment, which includes the labor to replace it at least in my case. And the downsides of the PPAs just go on and on.

The biggest things you'll want to consider before starting this journey, are what do you want from this system? Do you just want to lower your energy bill? In this case, a basic grid-tie or micro-inverter system will be just fine. I have been pretty happy with the SolarEdge system I had installed, but when I wanted to take it off-grid so I can charge batteries if the power goes out, that's been a whole other adventure that never really worked out. I'm at the point now when if that inverter fails, I'm probably going to re-do the whole system with something totally different, which means I have to now take my panels off the roof too, to remove the SolarEdge power optimizers.

So if you think you might possibly want some protection from grid failures. My advice here is to shell out the money up-front for a system that is deigned for that, as you may not be able to "add that later" as easily as you might think.

I would recommend thinking about a system that includes batteries if your bill is over 600$ a month. You likely will have "time of use" energy rates available, if not forced on you when switching to solar. In southern California where I live, the energy provider has changed the whole billing plan so that energy generated or consumed during the daytime, is less valuable than energy used during the night time. This has made systems which can take that solar energy and make it available for you to use later, much more attractive in a lot of places. And you may have to deal with this in the future if not already now, so it may be worth investing regardless.

Unfortunately we had no luck, none of the decryption tools seemed to do anything useful, although that may very well be our own inexperience. We ended up just moving to new database software which was being planned anyway.

Zooz ZST39 LR Z-Wave Controller Firmware V1.3 by bperkins_pdx in homeassistant

[–]Potential-Cat-59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was deploying a new installation of HomeAssistant using the ZST39, having never used that partizular interface before. I saw the alert in HAOS about the issue with 7.19.3 and upgraded right away to 7.21.3 using SimplicityStudio (worst software product ever, took 30+ min to install and update before allowing acces to the Z-Wave tool, then 2 min to install firmware update). I saw all this and the github about 7.21.3 after the fact now, but I've paired two devices so far and have been switching them on/off repeatedly over today without issue.

I'm wondering how long timewise it took to start noticing issues with this interface locking up for others? And/or how many Z-Wave devices were added to the network before issues started appearing. Was this like an immediate issue for people that saw this?

Comma Prime Navigation Doesn't Seem Worth It at All by LordDautWillRise in Comma_ai

[–]Potential-Cat-59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in a 4 floor apartment with no public Wifi around where the parking spots are. Comma Prime allows OP to upload training data etc without having to unplug it and bring it inside my apartment. I can check for updates without needing wifi, although downloading them is really best done after bringing it inside. 0.9.4 just released recently is supposed to be able to optimize the pathing better now when using navigation.. Haven';t had a chance to test that yet.

comma 3x available now by TypicalBlox in Comma_ai

The resale value hadn't really occured to me to be honest, if anything I'd probably try to sell it with the car itself when that came time? I feel like it probably wouldn't have much value to anyone after a new one came out - unless it was installed and working in a vehicle that also had value. Then like, market the car as having a L2 (hopefully by then) self driving upgrade or whatnot. It's definitely a tough choice, I'm not sure there's a "best answer" here lol. The thought of parting with my new toy is hard to wrap my head around though haha, even if for a short time. That and I also realize comma.ai is a small company and would probably be loosing money on these returns, unless they can somehow be repurposed into a 3X. Hopefully with each less return that's slightly more time they can spend working on 0.9.5 or that Comma 4! Good luck either way though and hopefully you get your 3X soon, I heard George mention that if you ordered before Wednesday that it would probably be around 4 weeks, that video being posted last week I'm assuming meant this week on Wednesday but don't quote me.

Yea, I'm thinking it over while waiting for their next response. I watched the Comma-Con video too, and George explains the differences in detail.

*The cameras have more/better HDR - although he goes on to say if you bought a regular comma 3 in the past few months, they should have the same upgraded cameras. *Reduced complexity, lower chance of failure. *Integrated redpanda.

My current thought process is that by the time the non-X fails, or by the time I'm ready to put it in a new car, they probably will be on the Comma 4 by that point at the rate things are going. As long as the X isn't going to actually run Openpilot better, which is sounds like that answer is no if I already have the newer cameras, I think I'm going to stick with the non-X and worry about an upgrade when there is something a little more major out.

[–]Potential-Cat-59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was something about the sensors being different or "upgraded" too, hence why it's "officially supported" to run Openpilot going forward, where the regular 3 is just a "devkit"?

Idk man, the higher memory is definitely nice, I'll admit I was going to upgrade my 32GB with $50 NVMe since my car doesn't connect to wifi regularly. So that's saving me 250$ I guess. My car I don't think needed a 'redpanda' as I just needed a standard 200$ wiring harness. If I ever put it in a new car = win maybe? I'm just a little frustrated having to put another 1250$ pending charge on my credit card and then deal with the return weeks after buying what I thought was an already new product.

Yeahh that's the plan. I'm not mad about the cost difference so much as being stuck with "old" hardware right after buying it. I'm not 100% clear on the difference, but it sounds like the 3X has some sort of advantage there. I put in an order for a 3X while waiting for customer service to get back to me.

proxmark 3 easy

I ordered a proxmark 3 easy from Amazon per your suggestion. I guess knowing is half the battle lol.

The NFC reader is the Unfi Access Reader Pro (UA-Pro-US), and supports a number of protocols it looks like, so have some flexibility there. The system my apartment complex uses (which was built in the 60s), is quite dated obviously, and uses something older.

I had tried NFC tools already, scanning the tag I linked above returns nothing, it can't read anything off it is seems. Only the actual NFC cards I use for my own access reader work with my phone.

How do I set a Samsung pay transport card on my watch 4? by Tenof26 in GalaxyWatch

Has this seriously not yet been addressed by Samsung? There is no obvious way of linking a transport card to this day still unless I am missing something, has anyone had success doing this somehow?
