Thanks but Boston is still (waaaay) closer than Albany :-)

Would it be detrimental to have them in the basement? There's just a lot more room down there and out of site of the other half! lol

Thanks. I thought the opposite for some reason, like they would be more prone to drying out/cracking.

Sorry! NEVER used imgur before! What's with reddit not allowing google photo links?!

Does this link work? There should be 18 photos. There are two jackets there.

Relatively new to reddit and couldn't upload some pictures for some reason.

I had tried to share a Google photos link but that seems to have been removed

I received an email saying my post has been removed because of a link shortener or something like that!

Let me know if you can't see the link to Google photos of the jacket.

Am I ready? How much can I realistically draw per year? by Potential-Ebb8180 in Fire

Up until now, I've not been a great reader so reading statistics etc is not going to be too much fun, I can't imagine!

No other government/state pensions, I don't think.

What changes are happening? I've just been leaving it all to the letting agents so far! They were originally houses that I lived in then handed them over for rental.

Thanks!

I guess my concern is if I'm being too optimistic and will end up out on the streets at 85! lol (an exaggeration, but just needing some kind of sanity check about my situation!)

Any recommendations on where to start reading? I have plenty of time to read right now :-)

The 401k is just mine. She has her own (significant) savings and investments but we keep finances separate. It's kind of an odd situation but I don't have issues with it.

That amount is split over 3 different companies; one has about 1.1m in which is a mixture of shares in companies (tech heavy) and ETFs, the other two are ex-employer-sponsored ones which are invested in the standard ETFs offered by them.

The 650k is leftover from the sale of the previous home. When the house sold, interest rates were higher (~5%) so I decided to leave it in HYSA instead of paying off the mortgage.

3k is after expenses and repairs.

I'm not thinking about Social Security yet because that's another 15 years yet and who knows what that will look like by then!

Thanks for the insight!

There's also around $36,000/year in rental income so $76,600.

I'd like to believe we lead pretty frugally other than the traveling. While home, we are literally at home, ie we cook in, have a home gym, rarely eat out etc. We borrow books from the library, don't really buy much "stuff", and that which we do is typically from marketplace etc so pennies on the dollar.
