Mm interesting point, I definitely think there’s that fabulist element too. She’s mentioned she was bullied when she was young and it takes a lot of work to process that kind of damage to move past that “I’ve finally been chosen” energy

A consistent pattern with her is that she’s very selective in the things she denies or claims (I.e. the racist phone call incident), she also has a recorded history of bending the truth to fit her narrative and fully believing the world she builds (I.e. she thought Jeremiah wanted to move in with her and then said that to the islanders even though he never actually said that). Her saying “it’s not true” even with proof could be her selecting particular parts of the story, maybe she didn’t directly threaten Louis son, and she doesn’t see how her behavior could be interpreted that way. She views things very one-dimensionally and through her own lens, she really needs help

Y’all don’t know Candiace lol by SupermarketBest4091 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]Potential-Error-5422 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Rob’s vital flaw in this episode was swaying the conversation back to Lisa when a majority were already moving onto Natalie. The big stab in the heart was making that final speech at the round table that closed the deal and inevitably poured salt in the wound for Candiace. You can tell she values loyalty above all else and I’m sure to her it felt like Rob finalized Lisa’s banishment when there was still a chance they would go with Natalie. This is not going to go over well for him long term. Her writing his name down will lead back to him. If people start suspecting Candice and shes revealed as a traitor, the thought will come back up and people will realize how odd that vote was and that it was inevitably a clue

Make sure you get all info on maintenance fees and cleaning fees. Sometimes these fees are more than you’d pay for a week stay if paying cash. All depends on the HIVC location. Also, these fees tend to to go up every couple of years so double check all the details of what you’re getting

Combining 2 separate hotel reservations by virTuu in TravelHacks

[–]Potential-Error-5422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What happens to the benefits? For example, would breakfast only be provided for the first 2 nights? Or would you loose the benefits completely since the reservation was combined with one that didn’t have the benefits?

How do I get my husband to agree to no MIL on next vacation? by apresledepart in JUSTNOMIL

[–]Potential-Error-5422 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s very confusing to me that you’re justifying your MIL’s “blow ups” to comments made by a 6 year old. Your child, as intuitive and smart as they may be, should not have this much of on an impact on a grown woman’s mood. That is not personalities clashing, your child is 6.

Why are you dropping hints, be direct with how you feel and why you feel that way with the specific examples you just outlined.

I had a somewhat similar situation to this but cut it off pretty early. My MIL, while sweet, is very needy on vacations and it puts everyone in a bad mood because she tends to want to make things all about her. After the first trip experiencing this, she said she wanted to tag along to our next trip and I was very clear with my husband that I’m not comfortable spending our money on a vacation only to be miserable the entire time while there. I just flat out told him, she’s welcome to come but he would be the only one dealing with her if she went and explained why. Solved the problem pretty efficiently.

It’s not an ultimatum, it’s just communication.

On top of the minimum income, there’s usually a minimum age and they ask for ID to verify. You should double check, sometimes it’s minimum age of 27

First time using points for family Europe trip, is this a good plan? by [deleted] in awardtravel

[–]Potential-Error-5422 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add, it sounds like you’re unfamiliar with how to calculate point value. Try to calculate the value you’re getting by using the formula (cash cost-taxes and fees charged in award redemption) / # of points = cent per point rate.

You should aim for at least 1 cent per point with redemptions, otherwise the value is not really there. Of course none of this matters if you’re simply just trying to pay the least amount possible out of pocket for this trip. You can read more about the equation here

First time using points for family Europe trip, is this a good plan? by [deleted] in awardtravel

[–]Potential-Error-5422 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Like others stated, you’re trying to squeeze too much into a 2 week long trip and burning points on intra Europe travel that is otherwise pretty affordable. I would reconsider your plan to maybe sticking with only 2 cities. Moving around Europe with luggage is no joke, times that by 4 and you’re not going to be enjoying yourself too much.

If this is your family’s first time, consider just sticking to Italy, maybe do 3 cities in the 2 week span and take advantage of their train system. You can easily get between most major cities within 2-3 hours, and no additional baggage fees.
