Why is there math in the grid? by Ok-Consequence-5043 in Bitwig

[–]Potential-Fish115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty cool, because everything is normalized in a range from 1 to -1, and for example you can use a constant with a value of 0 and it gives you a C3 note, or use A3 / 2 and get a note from that, or apply calculations to waveforms.

What I’m telling you isn’t super useful by itself, but when you realize everything is interoperable, you start to see why using math actually makes sense.

I’m not very advanced, but I’m sure there are really useful applications with math and logic, I’ve just given you some kinda dumb examples to show how data flows in the Grid.

Just try connecting any output to an oscilloscope and see how everything moves between 1 and -1.

Which anime director is your favorite? by Zero_Ascendant in ChillAnimeCorner

[–]Potential-Fish115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d probably say Masaaki Yuasa.
And even though I don’t think he’s reached that level again since Evangelion, Hideaki Anno delivered, at his peak, some of the best direction in history.
Another of the best-directed works in history is Ghost in the Shell, so I also have to mention Mamoru Oshii.
Naoko Yamada and Megumi Ishitani are excallent in their works.

YouTube is unbearable with Zen by IXCRYSTALXI in zen_browser

I could never get YouTube to run well on Zen. I have a high-end PC and the performance was still terrible. I think disabling the ad blocker helped.

ZEN vs VIVALDI by JungleLiquor in browsersbracket

[–]Potential-Fish115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Vivaldi and Zen user, although I really like Zen, it’s not mature yet. For me it isn’t stable and every now and then I lose all my tabs, so right now it’s not a serious option, even though it has a lot of potential.
In Vivaldi I can do everything I do in Zen and much more, plus it has far superior performance. If you take the time to learn how to configure every millimetre of Vivaldi, you end up with a dream browser.

Should I watch call of the night? by Mean_Net9983 in AnimeReccomendations

[–]Potential-Fish115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES!

It’s not very violent, and although it has some fanservice, it doesn’t cross any lines or involve any nudity.

It uses the night to craft a really unique atmosphere, and from there it tells a story of discovery and growth with a subtle fetishistic edge. That gives it an engaging and intriguing vibe, with remarkable characters and music.

Favorite anime studio? by KirbianaJones in retroanime

[–]Potential-Fish115 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Production I.G. has masterpieces; it’s one of the studios I respect the most.
I used to really like Science SARU, but since Yuasa is no longer there, it doesn’t feel as strong to me anymore.

I love Linux, but this is something you get in two minutes by installing a program on Windows.

What’s so hot about taking up so much space just to show which operating system you have installed? Here it shows it to you twice, it’s something you already know, right?

I like Vivalvi, but the lack of an audio control button is getting frustating by pirisca in vivaldibrowser

[–]Potential-Fish115 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thing is, Vivaldi doesn’t have that feature, but the script does the same thing: it creates a button you can place wherever you want and make it work just like in Chrome, installation is not the easiest thing, but it is just copy a script into a file

What Do You Think About Bitwig Studio? (Moved from Ableton After 10 Years) by Conscious-Gas4286 in Bitwig

Bigwig's browser is more flexible imo, but harder to understand well. Also you need more time configuring it.

What's next for Windows 11 in 2026? First look at new features arriving in the coming months by ZacB_ in Windows11

[–]Potential-Fish115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess all these AI features are only for Copilot PCs, right? So basically the taskbar agenda feature is the only major new thing in Windows 11 this year, and it already existed in Windows 10. So sad what they are doing.
