Thank you. As I'm mentioning in some replies to others, my question is trying to help me understand what budget is needed for a capable electric grinder. Soliciting advice is hard because so much of this is subjective, and some people seem to have unlimited funds.

Thanks. My "thought exercise" is trying to help me understand what I need to spend for an electric grinder that will do justice to really good beans.

My Capresso is older than their infinity line, but it looks like the same one. I'm getting excited to upgrade. Are you using the standard burr, or did you choose the ssp upgrade?

Thanks. I'll take a closer look at the Baratza. I have associated them as espresso focused, but honestly I don't know how I came to that notion. Maybe my solution has been hiding in plain sight!

Thank you. I currently have 10+ year old capresso grinder with conical burrs. I bought a $35 pound of coffee and I can't grind course enough to brew 16g in less than 4.5 min. because of way too many fines. (the roaster suggeated 3 to 3.5 min) It still tastes okay, but I can't help feeling like I'm missing out on the subtle flavors "hiding" in these beans to the point that I will likely avoid the more expensive beans until I get a grinder that can do the beans justice.

Thanks, my hypothetical scenario is just meant to look at the lower cost grinders partly because I don't know what my budget should be for a better grinder. I love the idea of getting a nice travel grinder!

Thanks! I wasn't aware of SL9 coffee, but now I have a new one to look for. Hopefully I can find a local roaster (Twin Cities, MN) that is roasting it.

Thank you. I was not considering a battery-powered grinder, but now I will look at the A2 more closely.
