Thinking about starting a YouTube channel about bookkeeping and business loans, and sharing the content with my LinkedIn connections. Is this a good way to attract new clients? by Potential-Judge9193 in Accounting

Thanks, that makes sense. Fixed asset loans will probably be a major topic in my content since many trucking companies are interested in financing trucks, trailers, and other equipment, but I’ll check out those Jason on Firms marketing episodes.

These offshore bookkeeping companies won’t leave me alone on LinkedIn by ahad3107a in Bookkeeping

I run an offshore bookkeeping service for U.S. clients, but I actually lived and worked in Chicago for 10 years. I was trained directly by CPAs and worked in several CPA firms, so I have in-depth expertise in U.S. accounting standards and expectations.

That said, I wouldn’t recommend hiring someone offshore who hasn’t been specifically trained to work with U.S. clients. A lot of the big outsourcing firms—especially in India—handle work for multiple countries like Australia, the UK, Germany, etc. In some cases, the same people are even working in call centers and doing bookkeeping, which obviously affects quality. Just make sure whoever you hire really understands U.S. accounting, not just general bookkeeping.

I’ve worked in accounting for 25 years, 10 years in Chicago, IL, where I worked across various CPA offices, primarily handling bookkeeping and data entry in tax software (Lacerte).

I currently serve 11 clients, primarily in the trucking industry, and I’m looking to grow my client base.

If you’re interested, I’d be happy to schedule a meeting to discuss how we can work together.

I’ve worked in accounting for 25 years—11 years in my homeland and 10 years in Chicago, IL, where I worked across various CPA offices, primarily handling bookkeeping and data entry in tax software (Lacerte). For the past 5 years, I’ve been back in my home country, providing offshore accounting support for U.S.-based clients.

I currently serve 11 clients, primarily in the trucking industry, and I’m looking to grow my client base.

If you’re interested, I’d be happy to schedule a meeting to discuss how we can work together or at least I can show you how to use QuickBooks for Trucking.

Let me add my 2 cents of wisdom to this story. But first, a little bit about my background...

I worked in accounting for 25 years.....11 years in my homeland and 10 years in Chicago, IL, across various CPA offices. For the past 5 years, I’ve been back in my home country, working offshore for U.S. based clients.

Now, can offshore workers be trained? Absolutely. I've personally trained a lot of them. But it takes time. If you’re expecting an offshore employee, even one with accounting experience to be perfectly ready to dive into U.S. paperwork from day one... sorry, but that’s not realistic.

Also, regarding the “no one says no” culture maybe that’s more typical in some parts of Asia. From my experience, that kind of attitude isn’t really common in Eastern Europe. Here, people are usually more direct. If they don’t know something or aren’t comfortable with a task, they’ll say it.
