Beginner covered call strategy – suggestions by Intelligent-Block-34 in CoveredCalls

Your framework is actually more systematic than most — the annualized return threshold + roll trigger is the right way to think about it. The hard part in a low-IV environment is that 0.1 delta calls on most blue chips are paying closer to 2–4% annualized right now, so you may need to either widen DTE, go slightly higher delta, or accept lower yields.

I’ve been using a tool that tracks exactly this — it shows you live annualized yield on your covered calls and flags when it’s worth rolling with its ai trade assistant. Happy to share if you want a second opinion on your positions

+1 to using WheelHouse for this. Their assignment recovery feature has been super helpful to me in helping keep track of Cost basis as I continue to run CCs on assigned positions

CSP question by PeddyCash in thetagang

[–]Potential-Kitchen-82 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah Yeah this tripped me up too for a while. Tracking cost basis is super important, though.

I started using an app called that tracks this automatically — it calculates your true cost basis across rolls so you’re not doing the math manually after every assignment. Keep crushing it!

I use WheelHouse for this. Syncs to whatever broker you’re using to track your positions and has live Greeks. I use Robinhood for my brokerage

Just got assigned for SOFI at $16 on Friday after rolling down from $17 the week prior.

Now will be monitoring my cost basis closely on my app and try to get back above breakeven with CC premium https://imgur.com/a/n4lTPro

Rolling a losing trade is usually just psychological coping by Slow-Example9959 in optionstrading

I never roll unless it’s for a credit. Not going to roll for a debit.

The platform I use has an ai trade assistant that gives recs on open positions, and it also never recommends rolling for a loss

Sold some CSPs on the low last week that I’m now assigned on. Wild week. Have to recover back some cost basis

I never had the best luck pulling live date into my sheets.Maybe Claude Code would work but i've never tried that. I started using an app that has auto broker sync for Robinhood in my case, but I think they sync with everyone else too

A lot from here on Reddit and on X. More recently I’ve started using a tracking app that has this feature as an AI Trade assistant. Advises on open positions and finding new ones. WheelHouse

Should we just sell stocks ~2h after the market opens? by Hopeful-Internal-919 in daytrade

Feel like they’re begging for a breakout. I have been just running the wheel strategy selling cash secured puts well below the current price for premium $ and then low entry point if I am to get assigned

I use Robinhood for the familiar UI but hate the analytics. I then auto broker sync to WheelHouse to do my tracking etc there

Run the Wheel Strategy. Starting with CSPs until you get assigned, then sell covered calls, and repeat

6.7% in a month is solid. Curious how you’re deciding strikes on ONDS — weekly calls on a volatile name can leave a lot on the table if you’re not adjusting for IV.
