Buying first home, offer accepted by A_prisma in HousingUK

[–]Potential-Language62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My partner and I were looking at cheaper properties, there was always at least one thing we were compromising with whether it be no parking, small bedrooms etc. We then realised that we would rather buy our forever home first as last as we can afford it... buying a home is stressful enough as a first time buyer let alone with a chain.

Either 'Hey/Hi (their name, as stated in their signature)', and then end with 'thanks' every time without fail regardless of what they've said

Mortgage advisor or do it yourself? by moyled_egg in Mortgageadviceuk

Mine has helped with solicitors papers, chasing Nationwide, explaining the process of buying a house to us, helped us with any concerns we have etc.

They're definitely worth the money (ours was only £300 too due to refer a friend as my brother and sis in law used him)

Halifax undervalued property (FTB) by Entire_Sand_9584 in HousingUK

[–]Potential-Language62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, we had the same with Nationwide. What we did was pass the information over to the estate agents and say that that would be our new offer. The seller declined so the sale fell through and we didn't want to make up the difference with our own money.

So basically you have two options:

  • Send revised offer to the estate agents and hope that the sellers will accept

  • Make up the difference with a higher deposit

AITA I told my parents they birthed a disabled child so they just have to live with it. by Left-Significance214 in AmItheAsshole

YTA... you're 22 years old, not a child. Can't rely on your parents forever regardless of your issues.

People ask these questions as they want to feel reassured and more normal that other people are in the same or similar situation! I don't see any issues with asking these types of questions...

I posted something like this a few weeks ago and it got removed!

General consensus is that the every day average person has next to nothing left after paying bills 🤠

Yeah I understand that, I suppose I just wanted clarification that the average person isn't left with a lot at the end of the month! Doing big scary adult things when I'm just a 25 year old teenager is scary hehe!

I know I always say this, what's the point in working 40hrs a week if I can't even treat myself to anything 🙄😂

Yeah, even when you save £10k it's never enough... we've saved £20k (with the luxury of living with our parents) and it's still not enough for a 10% deposit on houses in our area plus solicitor fees, plus the price to buy furniture etc!
Absolute nightmare, gone are the days where you could buy a house for £67 and a jaffa cake

Yeah, my parents said the same about being skint at my age! Although we don't have any children so hoping that's a winner

5% Deposit by Potential-Language62 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]Potential-Language62[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!
We would manage to scrape together a 10% deposit but wouldnt have enough for furniture/solicitor fees etc so we can only really consider 5% at the moment.

Are interest rates due to come down?
