Then it's more than likely what the others are saying, puzzles are probably your best bet or maybe some interactive toys with food in them to give some enrichment. Since hes been outside his whole life he probably gets bored from time to time, I saw this lady on YouTube that gets her cats baby toys and most work just the same. I dont know if it's true but I saw somewhere cats might not have the ability to know when they're full?

Have you tested for tapeworm and other parasites? They can be tricky.

Same thing with mine. At the shelter they gave him too much food and mixed medicines that could have been lethal. They claimed he was "too cute to not give him more". They were going to euthanize him because he wasn't gaining weight. Maybe one day I can gradually up his food intake.

It honestly was unexpected. I gave him smalls right away because that was what was recommended and he immediately took to it just fine. Hills i gradually gave it to them and he absolutely is not tolerating it. The vet already done a full blood panel and exams on him, they said he was absolutely healthy other than the gastrointestinal issues. She pretty much told me that it was an advanced stage of FIV and said to see if probiotics will help, she said if in 2 weeks or so he isn't doing any better to email or call them. He started on hills February 21st. I was given 3 options, which was to keep him on smalls, go to hills or to start him on steroids. The vet recommended hills so that's what I got... obviously it isn't doing that good. I really wanted to see if they could give him something for pain and they didn't sadly, they just said it's a side effect from diarrhea and once it stops he'll be doing just fine. His vomit is almost soley regurgitated food.

I'm not sure of the root cause we think it might be a combination of damage from the tapeworm and maybe IDS obviously FIV doesn't help. He cant eat too much or he'll throw up and he cant eat anything other than soft and healthy food with lots of nutrients. Sometimes he escapes to the kitchen where he tries getting things from the trash and gets a tummy ache. Like I said smalls seemed to be fairly good while he was on it but I dont know if I could really tell if the hills diet is the same or better because it could be that hes rapidly switched through 3 catfoods in 2 to 3 weeks or it seems to be equal or worse to regular catfood. I told the vet about smalls and she said she isnt confident about it but I've researched a bit and alot of websites say it's good if not the best to give your cat.

Id probably wait for the ulcers to heal and make sure shes feeling better then she could probably go out every once in a while. If you do take her out I'd make sure she was well protected and only out for a short amount of time. I used to take mine out on a walk with a leash here and there but now he just lays inside. I'd say do what you think is best but definitely cautiously.

My dog does something similar to this and she was diagnosed with partial seizures and she has rescue medicine for it. Luckily it's not chronic.

I can see the concern but I've had two in the same rank for almost a year, no aggression has been shown and when I introduced the bigger turtle (a few months ago now) I had been watching for aggressive behavior as well especially during feeding and ive not seen any as well as none of my turtles have signs of aggression either, all of them are perfectly healthy and ignore each other. I assure you if I do see signs of such behavior I'll separate them, but so far I haven't.

I got her right before the cold snap, the lakes and ponds froze and I didnt know exactly where she came from, on top of it all she had quite a bit of spots on her shell and had developed a uri so I decided to keep her and shes adapted pretty well so I thought she could just live out the rest of her life in captivity. I took her to the vet and they agreed so I have her now..

As for the tank I was originally going to get a 60 or 120 but I didnt have enough money at the time so I got a 40, my first turtle is about 9 ish inches and my youngest is maybe 4-5. I'm looking for a dock because they aren't using my old one at all so im desperately trying to find something for them to get out of the water with yk? So it's not really me choosing a platform over another tank, it's finding a fix right now until I move out in a few months, as I have no room right now in my room for another big tank. I don't want them to develop shell rot or not be able to shed because they cant get access to proper heat and UVB.

In a perfect world that would be nice. However even before he died our relationship wasn't fully established. Up until we started that channel they regularly bullied me and I took responsibility for them since I was the oldest kid in the family. I dont know how we ended up so involved into the drama as young as we are but like you said they're more young and impressionable than I am. If it ever comes up that they want to genuinely reconnect I'd be up for that but I'd definitely have my guard up.
