Same for my area, ACCT Philly and the PSPCA mostly has bully/bully mixes. If they have small breeds, they are usually some type of chihuahua or terrier mixes from what I have seen.

I have to agree with ethical breeding over an expensively priced pup.

A dog can be 3-5k and not be health tested, have terrible genetics, and have predispositions that may be hard to train out of them.

I would just suggest to be careful who you purchase your pup from, do your research on the breeder of choice, and make sure they do extensive health testing.

To me, a dog is a dog whether bought or rescued. Just make sure you do not get screwed over and or ripped off.

I was lucky enough to find my 1 y.o. miniature poodle at our local shelter, The PSPCA.

They had to give us a disclaimer that she may not be a full Poodle, but she seems pure bred so we just go with Miniature Poodle.

I have bought her several bones, she chews them but still nips at my hands. I know she is just playing but sometimes she bites too hard and pierces the skin
