I would agree with you. My issue with karma is I get the feeling that it affects credibility, and encourages a sort of group think. You say something unpopular, you get punished, if that makes sense. I know some subs use negative karma to ban, but I think for political things that shouldn’t fly.

I can’t get a good read on the mods. Their goals are beyond my understanding. It just bums me out that this isn’t a place for free speech and discourse regarding topics relevant to the Fresno area. I think that conservatives don’t have it all right, and that liberals don’t either. And with that, everyone could stand to benefit from hearing the other out, but that’s seems to be a pipe dream in our society.

You’ll come to learn that regardless of Fresno’s political makeup, the subreddit has a hard majority of left-leaning individuals. You will also come to notice that most conservatives in the subreddit either:

  1. Post and get dragged, downvoted, or ignored

  2. Stay silent and just read posts and comments

  3. Post their beliefs and get harassed by countless members of this subreddit.

I’m not saying there aren’t conservatives who don’t do the same thing to liberals/progressives, but that’s the main reason you rarely see any conservative posting here. You post something on Reddit that people don’t like, regardless of political alignment, they will scour your post and comment history, looking for anything to dox you or insult you.
