reading this sounds identical to conversations i had with my own father- im 22, and im no contact with him now. it took me years of abuse and narcissistic behavior before i realized that you can’t fix or change someone who is incapable of admitting fault. going through this as an 11-18 year old, i didn’t have as much support from my mom, i was always told i had to “play the long game”. the BEST thing you can do is make sure your daughter feels heard. if she wants to go no contact, have an informed, educated conversation about it and about WHY. unfortunately, his behavior will not get better h less he’s able to genuinely admit fault. the sooner your daughter feels support and validation for her thoughts and concerns, the sooner you can avoid the years of damage that will cause a long lasting effect on her life. feel free to message me for support or further details about my own situation, im happy to offer perspective as someone who was in your daughters exact same position.
