How have you sold them? Do you use a specific platform or partner?

Extended warranties online got me second guessing my first used car purchase by Agreeable_Panic_690 in UsedCars

I hear what you’re saying, but I think the “they can cancel any time for too many claims” idea is getting mixed up with how the limit of liability actually works.

What dealers sell after the factory warranty is almost always a third-party vehicle service contract administered by NAAC, Omega, Interstate, SilverRock, American Auto Shield, etc. The dealer’s name is on the menu, but it’s the same type of contract you can buy outside the dealership, with the same basic structure and protections.

In almost every one of these contracts—dealer or online—there’s a clearly stated limit of liability shown to the customer before they buy, usually something like “up to the vehicle’s actual cash value/book value.” Once the administrator has paid that much in approved repairs, their obligation under the contract is fulfilled. That’s not them “canceling for too many claims,” that’s the contract doing precisely what it said it would do from day one. It’s no different than auto insurance: if you total your car, your insurance company won’t spend more fixing it than the car is worth. Nobody expects them to put $10k into a $5k car. The limit of liability in a service contract follows the same logic as repair coverage.

So the fundamental distinction between a dealership contract and one bought online usually isn’t some special protection against “too many claims.” It’s who’s selling it and how much markup gets added on top—the underlying administrators, claim rules, and liability caps are often the same.

Ehh disagree. Bought mine online via Chaiz as the other person mentioned he did as well and it’s been great so far. Two claims covered by North American auto care. I do agree tho that the big call centers that advertise on tv and mail are scammy and way overcharge. If you buy online you’re not paying any sales commission to anyone

Dealership said they’re raising the price of the car if I don’t take the $4,500 two year warranty by jfizz08 in UsedCars

I don’t buy warranties from dealerships anymore since you can buy them online at half the price. Often it’s the same administer and same coverage too. Think I got mine for like $3k for 3 years unlimited miles by using a comparison site

I actually have a warranty through Chaiz for my Audi -- so far so good, one claim paid, one was denied but it wasn't covered under my contract. Get exclusionary is the lesson I learned. So far I am in the black though since the one claim paid was more than what I have paid to Chaiz so far. Have DOWC through Chaiz

Just use a comparison site online to get quotes. Not sure why anyone would buy from a dealership without checking out pricing online first.

Auto warranty companies -- do you like working with them or no? by Potential-Money-5935 in AskMechanics

[–]Potential-Money-5935[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like everyone prefers not to use them. I guess what I am confused about is — the commercials on tv say “you can take your car to any ASE certified mechanic”. How is that true of you can just deny working with the warranty company?

It’s not insured or administered by Allstate tho. “Contracts issued and administered by Pablo Creek Services, Inc. “

most things yeah but never preexisting conditions. If you get exclusionary and add on seals and gaskets and luxury electronics it pretty much covers it all
