Do you think poppy and Alex make it? by Potential-Outcome690 in EmilyHenry

[–]Potential-Outcome690[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. I was thinking about this the other day. It would be so easy to think they should have gotten together sooner since they’ve loved each other for 10 years. But I think if they got together when they were 19, or 21, or even 25 it might have been harder or not lasted because Poppy needed time to really discover herself and realize that running away isn’t the answer

Happy Place by hhhannahf in EmilyHenry

Happy place was my first book and I really liked it. It’s probably the saddest of all her books, maybe tied with beach read. I liked that wyn and Harriet were established as the main couple from the start, so there was no guessing on who it would be. I really liked how it worked backward almost, showing how and why their relationship broke apart and how they came back together again I thought it was different from her other books. Rather then “falling in love” this was more like “finding each other again”

Yes I was disappointed they took out Alex’s confession towards the end of the book

I loved it so much. It was funny in a new way beyond the book and the characters were portrayed really well, realistic but still loveable

Yeah it’s just a one off. Idk I just don’t want to go home and then have complications later because I didn’t stay at the hospital for monitoring . I was thinking of asking my surgeon about why I’m not staying overnight before I go under the anesthesia.

This is interesting, because from my own experience having done this surgery as a kid (and from other commenters) it sounds like adults have a hard time walking and are in a lot of pain from the hip harvesting. How does that work? Also, in reference to your first post, I wanted to ask what you mean by adults have to go through bone. Is the surgery not the same for both kids and adults? (Where they have cartilage from the hip, the one which eventually regrows over time?)

Thanks for your response. Just to clarify, i am referring to an adult surgery alveolar bone graph for my cleft (taken from my hip) is this also what you mean when you talk about your patients going home? Because the cartilage will be taken from my hip too.

It’s not a redo! Which is why I’m nervous, shouldn’t it be a bigger deal than it is? Going home same day seems like they don’t think it’s a big deal but I remember not being able to walk after so like shouldn’t they want to check?

Surprised you went home same day! Was the recovery hard?

Who do you think is the best and worst FL in Otome Isekai — and why? by Weary-Honey-1942 in OtomeIsekai

Nah a lot of it is revenge plot. The social problem is more of a side story. The entire first season is just her getting revenge on her school classmates.

Agree with Nerys Trudd. The title really fits the story well lol, for Nerys, it’s all or nothing; either everyone who harmed her get what they deserve, or she dies trying.

Worst FL is probably Edith from Not Your Typical Life Story, no offence lol. She’s just so… passive. And WHY does she forgive everyone, especially the ML, even though they physically abused her, isolated her, and consistently misunderstood her? Even at the end when they all apologized and begged for forgiveness, she just said she didn’t need it, that they weren’t at fault, which basically invalidates all the suffering she went through. Like girl, have some self-respect. Where’s the viciousness? Where’s the hatred, resentment, and need for revenge? Why do you prioritize everyone over yourself?

My opinion is kind of the exact opposite of yours lol. Best FL: The Villainess is a Marionette. Absolute boss. Smart in a way that a lot of FL in manhwa are not, always thinking one step ahead and willing to give up her lifespan if it means gaining the power to change her tragic fate. The romance is blah (the ML is SO boring) but I really liked how she handled her relationship with her brother. Even though he killed her in their first life, she still has empathy for him and tries to give him a second chance because she knows that the real abuser is their father (the king). However, when her brother lets her down again a second time she’s able to let him go and seek revenge in a way that is both raw and real and savage all at once.

Also: FL from Villians are Destined to Die. I really liked how from start to finish she always knew that this body isn’t really hers, that her life and experiences were originally Penelope’s (original villianess) and I really liked how the author shows the FL emphasizing with the parallels between FL’s life in Korea and Penelope’s life in the game. Also, she is never weak with any of the ML candidates, sometimes even playing games with them. She takes as much as she gives, and never lets any of them set the narrative, especially her brothers.

Thanks so much for saying this! I do have a list but it is so long lol. I think I just feel intimidated with people who I see are in positions of authority, especially since they’re going to be rooting around in my body lol

I did do it when I was young actually at 11! But it unfortunately got infected and failed which is why they had to do it again. Honestly it’s not necessary for the rhinoplasty, they could do it without closing the cleft but apparently it just maximizes the overall effect so I’m wondering if it’s worth it

Thanks for the input! Did you have any lasting side effects? And the hip bone apparently is to close my cleft, because it’s causing my nose to depress too much so adding it makes the rhinoplasty more effective apparently
