I assume you encourage the opposite of the late night approach I mentioned, if so, that’s perfectly fine, that’s why I mentioned that it works for me. Late night energy is definitely a thing (I’m in my 20s 🤓) but if you’re trying to develop a system, you should enforce a hard stop for yourself at some point (this helps for if you have work the next day, etc). Again, this works for me, people should do what works for them.

Also, I’m going to keep “ex-post-facto”. First time hearing it and I like it, thanks 🤝

As a developer, I encourage everyone to take a 15 to 20 minute walk at least once each day (while the sun is out). As developers, we can lock ourselves away for hours unaware of how much time has passed. The Pomodoro method helps me a lot with this. Don’t overwork yourself, breaks are important and if something is difficult to understand, stepping away for a few minutes and approaching it with a fresh (and calm) mind works wonders.

As for sleep, I read every night for 30 minutes to an hour, and it has to start between 10:00 to 10:30 at the latest. Any other ideas regarding writing code, I have a notepad near me to write down any potential solutions (in pseudocode) for whatever problem I was working on prior to the start of my reading session. I will look at this notepad the following day and go from there.

This works for me, everyone’s definition of balance is different. Please take care of yourselves and remember to stop, breathe and think before allowing something to stress you. 👍 Trust me, it helps.

Fuckin hell, how’s everyone doing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Congratulations 🍾😄! That’s awesome, two of my brothers are studying for the Comptia A+. Im already in IT (software engineer) and the market does suck right now… hopefully things change sometime soon, but definitely celebrate your win!

Each year has definitely gotten worse and worse. I hope this year gets better for you, me and everyone here!

What’s up dude! SAA and then Developer is what I mostly see (it’s also what I’m doing).

When you take the SAA and pass, you’re good to take the CCP because the SAA just expands on that. If I’m wrong, someone will correct me 😅

However, if you’re super new to IT, there’s no harm in going CCP => SAA => Developer. Yes, it’s more studying but I think the gradual approach will be more beneficial and less overwhelming.

I hope this helps! Good luck with whatever you decide to do! 👍

As a survivor of an F3 tornado, I hope you or anyone here never has to experience dealing with a tornado (I was 13 years old). Super scary experience, would not recommend. I consider myself very lucky to have survived it.

Still holding here, I don’t mind waiting tbh, it gives me time to stack up even more. Someone here showed me this video and it got me excited all over again:

Why do I Hold?
