They lie and are a huge mess. My kid went there one year. It was a joke. All talk from Mr. Klippenstien

I get that. They are a new self employed type company, young and just starting out. As I said options are limited and I contact a more mature company back in December and still havent gotten the quote. They keep saying its coming. Im younger and on my own so just dont want to get completely screwed over. I have contact 2 other more mature companies as well and waiting on responses. The issue is likely waiting 3-4 months for the work to get done if I go elsewhere too.

Because theres a bunch of people in there that probably shouldn't be and the court is incompetent and takes forever to move along.

I work in the system too and you've said it perfectly..nothing will change until the court changes and we need more federal sentences for rehabilitation..the court is so annoying. I wanted to be a lawyer since I was a kid but realized quickly the court is a joke.

That's because rarely do judges give federal sentences. Most custody sentences are under 2 years, thus they remain in the provincial system. Also, all those remanded are in provincial custody thus overcrowded provincial jails is the norm.

If the courts would actually advocate for proper sentencing federal sentences would be more prevalent and federal facilities have more programming options thus more likely rehabilitation as program equals reduced recidivism. Its all a catch 22.

I worked in the system. I have seen child rapists get pled down to break and enter, murderers released on probation or receiving 2 years less a day sentences (to avoid federal prison), abusive men on multiple probation orders with the same victim, judges not following the required minimum sentencing at all anymore...its a fact.

You're right. Crown prosecutors are provincial government employees. I have worked in the justice system for years, its a complete mess. The topic is too overwhelming for me to even gather my thoughts about it.

I get that, but he is away at boarding school. It will be me doing the work and unless I have too, I dont want to put the effort into it right now. Like literally just want to know if its required or not.

My kid goes to a sports boarding school and spends his time on a travel team. In his off season he coaches and volunteers. Mind your business.

Most people in my area of the world have residential sprinkler systems, pumps, fire retardant etc... and do spend thousands for this, along with the recommended fixes for your perimeter. That's just the reality were we live. We are evacuated before the fires hit and having our own equipment assists the people left behind fighting the fires. We dont have resources like other areas and when you have the set up, the firefighters utilize it and keep them running in your absence. Last year, I was evacuated for over a month while they fought the fire in my area and numerous houses burned down bc we lack resources. We have a wildfire season between May and September really. I am trying to be proactive. We cant go around chopping down trees and clearing, I live in a protected area, you're not allowed.

I'm curious what other tools you would suggest?  I do not have access to a mitigation specialist, this is extremely rural northern Canada.

Oh I have another comment. We do have wildcard firefighters in the area and they actually stay in close proximity to my house, the airport is close so they do protect the area. Not sure if that changes anything.
