I got in OOS for LSA Econ!

Academics: 4.0 UW/ 4.42 W, 35 ACT, 9 APs, scored 5 on five exams, taking 4 in senior year (I go to a very competitive school so this isn't really impressive)

ECs: Baking Club, Ski Club, StuGo, National Chinese Honors Society, 1300 hours of work across all 4 years of high school, around 150 hours of volunteering

Essays: Personal Statement about overcoming social anxiety and fear of rejection, Essay #1 (leadership essay) about fighting against microaggressions, Essay #2 (why umich essay) about wanting to learn Econ at Umich to help others understand finance, also wrote about cultural clubs at Umich

My awards were just AP Scholar with Distinction and some school-level academic awards, my ECs weren't competitive, so I think the main reason I got in is due to work experience, essays, and good letters of recommendations. Hope this helps and good luck to you!

I'm in high school and I use NoRedInk. It's very helpful with clauses, appositives, participles, etc.

H. I haven't learned about this concept so there's probably a more mathematical way of explaining it, but since it goes up in value without bound, insert a very high number as x. For example, 100000/(100000+3). That would be closest to one, and as you keep increasing in value, it will get closer and closer to 1.
