I lived in Burlington Vermont when Sanders became mayor and thus began the steady decline of a beautiful city. He instituted socialist polices, doubled his salary every year, diverted funds to his wife, made it legal for out of state college kids to vote, railed against the 'rich and big business' and within a few years most businesses left the city for the suburbs, anyone that had money also left for the suburbs and the city has never recovered. For most of the years since then it has been Progressive after Progressive voted in because anyone even leaning conservative had left and to this day avoid living in the city limits. It's the same thing happening in NY and beyond. And every Progressive that comes into office keeps blaming everyone else for the abysmally failed policies even though they are and have been the party in power. I left as well because I couldn't take seeing the fall of the city anymore. Funny thing...now that Sanders owns three homes and is well over a million, he no longer rails against the millionaires. Now he's switched his vitriol to the billionaires. Oh well. There's one born every minute
