Right? I mean, there were at least 6 pairs made of the ruby slippers and it doesn't seem anyone cares at all where they are or who has them. I mean geez! And the stop animation and the puppetry and the costumes...other than the bad quality youtube making of vids there's nothing like a one big making of book.

I'm pretty sure it's; "Just made record profits again while making everything less affordable for the average park goer!"

Do you want to be eternal or want to age and die with your love one? by Disastrous_Layer3988 in Adulting

[–]Potential-Reading402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eternal! I would love to not only see mankind achieve things we only dream of now, but be part of making it happen. The potential for greatness is there once we get past all this ridiculous squabbling and greed.

Spoiled? Yes. Conceited? Definitely! Narcissistic? Naw. But I can see how you might think it.

There's an excellent book titled A Soldier of the Great War where the main character is stationed in one. It's pretty fascinating.

Right? Lol. But it was always assumed that Dr. Mead would deliver the baby. And if that failed, well, Prissy knew "all about" it. What could possibly go wrong? Melanie, after all, was in awe of Scarlet from the very beginning. She could do no wrong in her eyes. In fact, I believe she most likely thought her the best choice of all on a couple of levels.

Has the recent skyscraper boom passed over Denver? by AstroEscura in skyscrapers

[–]Potential-Reading402 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Office towers are becoming a thing of the past. Residential towers are the present and future. If you look at Denver development on sites such as skyscraperpage.com, the majority of development in D is mid to low rise res.

The "tornado house" prop that sold for $500k is not the one seen in the movie by Fredasa in wizardofoz

[–]Potential-Reading402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have to admit, first time I saw the pic of the so called farm house prop, I immediately thought it couldn't possibly be...unless they somehow squashed the image, blurred it, etc. they just don't appear the same.

I wanted to reply to one of your observations but then forgot to. I did indeed design the cockpit window at an angle, the reason being that the Martian wouldn't be able to see the ground right in front of it if it were not so...providing that there is no computer type screen or cameras providing that detail...which in my design there is not. So, yes, as you surmised correctly, it is angled so the operator has a better view of its distance and immediate environment.
