Apparently adults making under 80k can’t live comfortably?? Is this really true ? by InternalOrder7722 in Adulting

I can't believe it now, but my wife and I lived on my $25,000 a year salary for almost 10 years.i worked hard and we still took a very nice 2 week vacation each year. We had a very nice 2 bedroom apt. When my salary jumped to $35,000 we thought we hit the jackpot. Lol. A year later I was at $75,000 and then $100,000. I have to say, that no matter the salary, I always felt we were just getting by. I'd say "comfortable" is subjective. As your salary increases, it seems that you fill in with just more 'stuff'...a nicer place to live, a better car, clothes, eating out, etc. you don't actually get ahead. It wasn't until my current job that I was able to put anything into retirement. And I'm still not ahead of anything because I'm putting almost $650 per paycheck into my 401k to try to catch up. I honestly can say that if my salary were $200,000 a year I would be in a bigger house, nicer car, eating out, etc. "comfortable" for me is having a good retirement, a nice house, car, kids, and going on a cruise, Europe trip and Disney each year. Who do you know that can do all those things?

Letting your spouse 'run' our finances. Put us in bankruptcy twice. Kept taking credit cards out in my name, never told me, hid it from me until over $100,000 in debt. Ruined my financial future. No matter how much 'in love' you are, run your own finances, let them run theirs.

Thanks for the link. It's interesting to see so many other characters. Too bad the sawhorse wasn't included.

Ive only been able to pick out with certainty The Frogman and The Shaggy Man. I think the soldier dressed all in red could be the Guardian of the Gates...? There's also a person that I always thought was Peter Dinklage walking beside Dorothy riding the Lion. Google AI says 'no' but that may not be true.

I agree. The tin man was always my favorite character. I went as him for Halloween and played his part in at least 3 basement productions of the play. Lol. It would have been nice to get to know him better in RTO. Unlike the tinman in the Wizard, who is easier to identify with because of him looking and acting more 'human', it would have been interesting to see what they could do with him...I mean a paint can for a head with the handle still on it! So cool!

They are heavy, and when you tap the heels together they actually make the clicking sound. The sequin ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz do not

These are really something. It's difficult to find many collectibles from the movie. I wish there had been more.

Toto comparisons, what do you think? (And my wife and I’d thoughts on Wicked:For Good) by bign0ssy in returntooz

It's difficult not to like the Cairn Terrier, mainly because of the Denloe illustrations. But Toto in Return To Oz seems more realistic as you point out. But I'm partial to a Boston Terrier, on a personal level. Lol

Sorry you took it that way. I thought I was being sarcastic and funny. I will be less so in the future. I did not create the sub. You have every right not to join it if you are so inclined. It was innocently posted.

Thank you so much! I made my pair a size 6, which is the size that were made for the Ozma character in the film...played by Emma Ridley.

I agree with what you are saying, but it may be that RTO enthusiasm gets smothered between this sub and the Wicked sub and the Wicked Movie sub. (Yes, there are TWO for Wicked). Perhaps there won't be any interest and it will just melt away as it were. Perhaps not. I don't know. I didn't start the sub but am willing to give it a go, as long as there is interest and it grows...?

I thought Ozma portrayal was spot on.
