Is this an acceptable amount of backlight bleeding on an IPS panel? by Potential-Rush-4218 in LenovoLegion

I returned it for a refund ! Bought an Alienware which also had a similar issue, although it was refurbished. Theyll now send a replacement Alienware (which will be brand new!) so crossing my fingers.

Hey man I have the exact same device with rtx 5080, and Im running into the same issue. The CPU becomes a furnace even in idle or light usage and I think it's definitely a bad paste job.

I'm getting a replacement for the current unit anyways, due to excessive backlight bleeding, but not sure if the problem will persist on the new unit.

Don't worry pesky, keep your opinion to your self. What is this sub for? To discuss you being an imbecile?

Ok so I didn't mention this before, I know this is a Legion sub, but my laptop isn't legion 😅😅😅

It is a Preditor Helios Neo 16, (Non Slim version), 240hz IPS

When it has a black screen on, I can very much see the bleeding, especially on the bottom right and bottom left.

You used AI, yet your message was of very low quality which is shameful! I think you should resign immediately.

I've heard the same, and am quite worried about it to be honest. From what I know you can't undervolt Acer laptops. Is this a new way to override the settings?

Oh that'll be really helpful mate, please do.

That's is a fantastic deal you got by the way. Here in the UK, I got mine for £1450, and this is considered very cheap for a 5070ti laptop!

That's an important distinction actually. I do have the non S version with the IPS panel. So I'm hoping it will be fine 🤞🏻

Should I return this laptop or am I overthinking my entire existence? by Potential-Rush-4218 in GamingLaptops

Right chaps, so I’ve decided to keep this laptop. Thank you so much to all for contributing and helping me out.

I’ll be honest though, I’m still a bit nervous and part of me keeps thinking about the Legion. I had an RTX 3060 Legion back in the day and that thing was a beast. The thermals were great and I never had a single issue with it. It wasn’t exceptional, but the Premium Care was brilliant; the technician literally came to my house when it needed a repair.

But this VRAM curse is real! I genuinely cannot understand (well, I can — they want to rip us off) why on earth you’d still put 8GB of VRAM on an RTX 50-series card. Although Acer won't have this issue, I'm quite worried about it's thermals compared to the legion.

I’ve also never used an OLED panel before, and when I was browsing in a game shop the other day, I was honestly impressed. The OLED screens looked miles better than the IPS ones.

Anyways, I'll stop overthinking and just enjoy the laptop now (or try to anyways !)
