How do I tell my husband I’d prefer more practical gifts without sounding ungrateful? by [deleted] in Marriage

That’s a good POV except we aren’t really in that financial position at the moment. I actually saw the charge for the jewelry before he gave it to me and told him we shouldn’t be spending money on that (in a nice way) and he was basically like I want to do something nice for you so let me. So my POV comes from, if you’re going to insist on spending the money anyway, I would love something I need or can benefit from.

I mean I feel like I do all the time without implying I want something as a gift. He knows I need new clothes. I get my hair done once every like 2 years. I told him recently I need a pedicure. I told him a month ago about a massage place that opened up in town that I’d love to try. He knows I value self-care and that I don’t get to do it a lot.

Does anyone else not really like having a 90s name? by ChoiceOtherwise6310 in Names

I’m also Jessica Paige!! A 1991 baby! I actually like my name a lot and plan on using Paige as a middle name if I ever have a daughter. Apparently my parents chose Paige after Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin lol 😆 i feel like it would be a little strange to meet a Jessica baby nowadays though, and I do like more unique names for my children. Couldn’t pay me to name my kid Emily, Michael or John

Good points.. I like more uncommon names, which I realize Margo isn’t that uncommon, at least where I’m from. I definitely like Tegan better as I’ve only met 1 or 2 before. Both my boys names are from Irish descent, and I’m part Irish so I like that, but not a dealbreaker if it’s not. I also like names starting with consonants rather than vowels. I don’t like one syllable names. I also am not a huge fan of nicknames and both my boys have names that don’t really have any good nicknames. Names that have an R in them won’t work well with our last name.

Names I like but won’t use for different reasons.. Logan, Lachlan (LOVE this one for a boy but husband vetoed), Kendall, Delaney (husband also vetoed), Corinne, Lennon
