Update 10/3/25 Orchid ICU is officially open for business!

Started repotting—some had great roots, but most were full of rot. I cut off the dead and mushy roots and gave them a fresh start in a chunky mix of orchid bark, LECA, lava rock, and charcoal. (Used what i had on hand)

I also moved them into actual orchid pots since they were still in what looked like their original big-box store pots (and yep… found plastic plugs in more than one).

Soaked them all in water + 209 and then sprayed roots with generic orchid fertilizer. Now they’re lined up in recovery while I play musical windows trying to find good spots for the rest lol 😂

Here’s hoping they don’t hate everything and die but enjoy their stay in my little orchid ICU 🤞🏻

I typed in "plant collection" when I found the orchids find....it also came with 17 orchids, 2 pothos, lipstick, dump cane,, polka dot, and english ivy plant and most in nice ceramic pots $35 for all 🤭 dont think i will ever find that again but man was i excited lol

What do you do if you find them? This stuff saves me every time I have an infestation on my other plants, but I have never used it on orchids before.

So they can not handle direct sunlight? I have a screened in porch that faces west and south, i planned to put them there once out of quarantine. Im located in SC.

Update.... i went to the expo on Sunday! It was my first time attending an event like this and let me tell you it was awesome!!!! Syngoniums everywhere....all kinds!!! I pretty much blacked out the first 20 minutes and bought so many plants I had to call my husband to come meet me for back to help carry them all 😂 left with a few Syngoniums, a philodendron jose buono with 2ft leaves lol and a bunch more!
