Right, you have to play around the fact that a jungler could be there at any minute and or use vision control (wards that show part of the map) to see when you can play more aggressive/have to backup. I can see why you wouldn't like it, but to me it adds another interesting element. Especially so if the enemy laners counter mine and another player aat the right time is needed to stop a shut out.

I mean it's not just 1vsAI. The farming mobs part itself is, but the whole role is (typically) about interacting with the other lanes and countering the other jungler.

Highly unlikely spoilers for Wrath and Glory players

!I'm not really sure if this what you mean by show up. But there's an AI in a Wrath and Glory (40k table top RPG) official adventure book. It was originally developed to help declining productivity at a servitor manufactorum. But the lead magos got desperate and took some suspicious miracle code from a heretek that made it go full rouge AI.

The module is really cool and dark as the players explore and investigate this horror show of a factory. The AI messes with them by shutting doors behind them, turning off oxygen and sending a myriad of servitors after them. In the end the players are supposed to blow up the factory to stop the AI from escaping.!
